Superheroes Replace Letters In The Alphabet

Superheroes Replace Letters In The Alphabet
This is a super creative way to do something new with the alphabet. Last week we featured some Star Trek-inspired alphabet art too. This series of illustrations reimagines the ABCs as superheroes and villains in amazing detail. Australia-based illustrator Simon Koay calls the series Superbet and they look really cool.

His designs are really impressive and these must have taken him a lot of time to complete. If you want to own prints of these letters for your wall, you can buy some from Society6.

CHAPPiE Inspired Triumph Motorcycle

CHAPPiE Inspired Triumph Motorcycle
Imagine if CHAPPiE could turn into a motorcycle Transformers style. Well, that movie would have been much different if he had that ability. Automotive designer and illustrator Tamás Jakus has imagined this for us. This motorcycle design looks just like CHAPPiE if he were running with Optimus Prime and company.

It is based on a Triumph bike and has a CHAPPiE headlight, his antennae on the back seat and the robot’s overall color scheme. It is absolutely perfect. Now I want one. If this were a toy I would buy it in a heartbeat. The design is just brilliant.

Female Superhero Costumes With Practical Redesigns

Female Superhero Costumes With Practical Redesigns
Female superhero costumes are anything but practical, so it’s no wonder that artist Lord Ingvard wondered what it would be like if female superhero character designs actually were more practical and functional. The artist did redesigns for several characters from the DC and Marvel universe.

Here we have Wonder Woman, Elektra, Supergirl, Black Canary, Ms. Marvel, Vampirella, Red Sonja, Power Girl, and Zatanna. There are no revealing designs here. No cleavage threatening to burst out, testing the strength of these costumes. Just practical clothing to get the job done.

Fantasy Movie Posters

Fantasy Movie Posters
Artist Sean Hartter reimagines classic science fiction films and casts them in an alternate universe, creating some amazing and memorable tributes to midcentury B movie graphics. It’s a great big “What if”. I can definitely see these as movie posters from a parallel dimension.

“I’m a total sci-fi geek,” Hartter says. “These posters are based on the idea that they’re from multiple universes, which frees me up to tinker with time frames and poster design.”

That X-Men poster is especially awesome.

Space Brew: A Sci-fi Drinking Card Game

Space Brew A Sci-fi Drinking Card GameThis Sci-Fi drinking game from Philip Atherton looks like a lot of fun. Don’t be intimidated by brutal enemies like the Cephaloid who makes you drink 8. Or the hideous Slurper. There are a bunch of power-up cards that will let you do battle with them and put the odds in your favor.

I think he has a real winner of a drinking game in Space Brew. Remember, if the aliens win, we ALL lose, so drink for humanity! Soon to be on Kickstarter.

Students Create Awesome Star Trek Graduation Covers

star trek graduation covers
The Batesville Class of 2015 from Arkansas has some grade A nerds in their midst and they decided to do something super cool for their graduation covers. Ross Jones took care of the setup and photography, Lauren Jones did the makeup, Lua Jones coordinated the shoot and Matt Baker did layout and photoshop. The end result are some graduation covers worthy of Starfleet Academy. Great job guys and gals.

Death Star Cookie Jar

death star cookie jar
This Death Star cookie jar is fully armed and operational. It should protect your cookies as long as you keep those pesky X-Wings away. Nah. This space station doesn’t have that one unfortunate design flaw. I’m going to keep my chocolate sith cookies in this thing from now on.

Seriously, a geek kitchen without a Death Star cookie jar is something I don’t want to think about. It just doesn’t make any sense, because this cookie jar is awesome. The third try is the charm. This Death Star should survive where the other two failed.

Adam Savage Builds A Near Perfect Star Trek Captain’s Chair

Adam Savage ordered a Star Trek Captains chair online, but it wasn’t as awesome as he thought it would be. So he built his own. He used various build plans that are available online, and customized it with features seen in the Star Trek series.

It may not be 100% accurate, but it is pretty damn close. Check out the video below. He added some of his own nice touches too. Like a drawer underneath for accessories, and the weird viewer thing on the arm of the chair from the pilot episode.

Star Wars Pixar Trading Cards

The talented Phil Postma did these excellent Star Wars cards based on Topps’ series 1 trading cards from 1977, only from the perspective that Pixar did Star Wars. These cards are awesome. And this is exactly what Star wars would look like if Pixar had created the movie.

I would love to see his take on some of the other series of Star wars cards. The art is top notch.

If Star Wars’ BB-8 Droid Were Designed By Apple

If Star Wars’ BB-8 Droid Were Designed By Apple

What if BB-8, that cute new spherical droid from Star Wars: The Force Awakens, was made by Apple? That’s what designer/concept artist Martin Hajek asked himself. Thiese images are the answer. This BB-8 was made with extreme attention to detail. The droid would come in silver, gold, and space gray.

It would also feature that iconic glowing Apple logo on the side. Of course it would also cost way more than the competition and you would have to upgrade it every year, but no droid is perfect.
