If you are a car buff, then you can appreciate great car design when you see it. The lines, the curves, the details. The power. Now combine a car like the Aston Martin Valkyrie AMR Pro with the classic 1966 Batman car and what do you get? You get a stunning beauty that melts your heart. Illustrator Marco van Overbeeke, of the Netherlands, decided to make a rendering of what he envisioned these two cars would look like when combined.
Right down to the Batman logo on the hubcaps, this car rendering is out of this world. Every detail is well thought out and just right. The question is, what would this car cost if it were the real deal? Check out more shots here.
I love this Batman Armor Concept showing the Caped Crusader as a medieval knight in a some killer armor. I’d love to see a Batman retelling of King Arthur with knights in armor like this. Knights of the round table? More like knights of the Wayne table.
Kevin Tiernan is a big Guardians of the Galaxy fan. I know, join the club. Well, Kevin decided to design a set of records for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol 2 just for fun. I love what he came up with. Each record in this box set is based on a different character with a matching record label. I would buy these in a heartbeat if the soundtrack was released in this form.
I bet you’ve never seen Adventure Time characters that look like this. These images are incredibly realistic. UK artist Adam Edwards created these amazing realistic busts of Ice King and Lemongrab. You can check out more photos of the Ice King build on Imgur. I hope he does more characters. I would love to see more. They are so realistic that they are creepy.
I love how different artists interpret things in minimalist style. In this case we have Frank L Tybush V’s Minimalist Comic Book Villains Art. Simple, clean and to the point. I think he did a great job with all of these villains and I would love to see what he can do with some of our favorite heroes as well. They would make great posters for sure.
Our heroes are always portrayed as being in their prime, with great physiques and amazing strength, but what happens when they binge too much on junk food. That’s what Kevin Sagoo’s art series titled Junk Food Superheroes explores and the results are not pretty. I wouldn’t trust these guys to rescue my cat. I sure feel sorry for the cities that they protect.
Starbucks really should be using some of these designs by Ryan Spencer on their coffee cups. They’re missing out on a ton of geek dollars. They could have different characters represent special flavors. I know I would be buying my coffee there if they offered these cups.
Hold onto your Captain’s chairs Star Trek fans. This is a special treat. This is a conceptual refit of the NX-01 starship in Star Trek Enterprise. It was designed by Doug Drexler and had the show gone on to a fifth season, this ship may have become a reality. The idea is that this ship is a bridge between the original NX-01 and the classic TOS Constitution class. And boy did Doug knock it out of the park! You can explore this ship from every possible angle below.
You know, I often complain that in its later years, Trek got lazy with many of its ship designs. Not all. There were still some neat ships, but at a certain point they started to feel really uninspired. The NX-01 is not bad for what it is. Now that I’ve seen this amazing starship, I really wish they had started that series with this ship. It is a real stunner. You can tell it was designed by a Trek veteran. It has all of the right visual cues that push my buttons as a long time fan. I’m gonna stop gushing now, but I fully admit that I am in love with this ship. Check it out. I’m gonna admire it some more myself.
Thomas Marrone did an amazing job creating this 3D model.
We could all use an exploding Death Star in our home. Well, not the real kind. I imagine that the radiation would kill you as well as the shrapnel. You can make a much safer version from an IKEA PS 2014 pendant lamp. Instructable user MariaK64 will show you how. You can follow tutorials here and here. You just take the lamp and paint it. It already expands with the pull of its string. It looks sooooo awesome and explody! Is that a word? It will be the coolest lamp in your house.
