Game Of Thrones: Creating The Dragons

Check out this neat behind the scenes look at how PIXOMONDO created the dragons for the fourth season of Game of Thrones. It takes a lot of work to make dragons look this good on screen and they have pulled it off quite nicely. These are probably the best dragons to appear on screen in the history of TV and film.

This video is worth your time if you are a fan of the show and want a glimpse at what goes into making these beasts look so alive. This show does CGI right.

Sucker Punch Cosplay: Babydoll

I’m a sucker for Sucker Punch. A lot of people give the film a bad rap, but for my money you will rarely see something so visually stunning and original. So there is no doubt that I am digging this Sucker punch cosplay of Babydoll. This is Mimi Reaves looking adorable and deadly as Babydoll.

I don’t care if you loved the movie or hated it, you have to admit she looks perfect in this cosplay. Awesome job Mimi!

Doctor Who: The First & Last Lines Of Every Doctor

We all have our favorite Doctor and most of us can quote our favorite Doctor’s very first and last lines. But do you know the other Doctor’s lines? Well, this handy chart should help. It shows all of the Doctor’s incarnations along with the first and last lines spoken.

I think they technically got a few wrong, but I may just be nitpicking. This brings back some fond memories. The 4th and 10th Doctor’s last words always get to me. How many did you remember?

An Art Show Tribute to Stanley Kubrick

Even though Stanley Kubrick did not exclusively make Sci-Fi films, he did as much as anyone for the genre. More than most in fact. 2001: A Space Odyssey is a masterpiece. So it is no wonder that he is being celebrated at San Francisco’s Spoke Art Gallery.

Check out some of the art that celebrates the great director’s work below. The man continues to inspire all of these years later. These images are amazing. If you are in the area, check out the show and be blown away.

Star Trek Coins Are The Credits We’ve Been Waiting For

Okay, so these awesome coins are not the Galactic credits from Star Trek’s future, but if you find yourself in the Pacific island country of Tuvalu, you can actually use them as legal tender. These are dollar coins and on one side it shows Elizabeth II, the Queen of Tuvalu. On the other side you will find either Captain Kirk or the USS Enterprise. Why do they never offer coins like this in America? They are lovely! Lucky Tuvalus!

They are from the Perth Mint of Australia and they are nearly pure silver. Beam me to Tuvalu Scotty!

Nightmarish Arkham Knight Scarecrow Cosplay

This cosplay inspired by Batman: Arkham Knight is enough to give you nightmares. Which is exactly what the Scarecrow wants. This unsettling collection of Scarecrow cosplay photos brings the Scarecrow to life and he is looking deranged and insane as ever. The photography is by Rich Johnson and the cosplay is all Matt Sprunger.

He is one of Batman’s most dangerous foes and I don’t think he has ever looked more terrifying. I hope the Caped Crusader has nerves of steel. He is going to need them to face this villain.

Alien Space Jockey Maquette Now Available For Pre-Order

Sideshow Collectibles makes some great Alien figures, but this latest announcement is for one of the coolest Alien collectibles ever. The Alien Space Jockey Alien Maquette is arriving in late 2015/early 2016 and boy is it beautiful.

It measures 21″ H x 18″ W x 23″ L and is based on the character in Ridley Scott’s 1979 sci-fi horror classic Alien. Take a look at some of the images. The detail on this thing will blow you away. Totally worth the $599.99 asking price.

Long before Prometheus uncovered the origins of the Engineer and his species, the mysterious ‘Space Jockey’ captured the imaginations of movie-goers around the globe. First encountered by the doomed crew of the ship Nostromo, the haunting discovery of the enormous lonely star gazer remains one of the most memorable moments in the Alien franchise. Based on the iconic bio-organic industrial designs of Swiss artist H. R. Giger, Sideshow’s artists have faithfully captured every detail of the fossilized sentinel, a tragic traveler who fell victim to his own lethal cargo and was forever frozen, trapped in time and space.

Slimy Piece Of Worm-Ridden Filth: Jabba The Hutt Documentary

Have you ever even given a moment’s thought to the puppeteers that brought Jabba the Hutt to life in Return of the Jedi? If you have, this documentary will be very fascinating for you. If you haven’t given much thought to Jabba and how he came to be, you will be even more fascinated.

This in-depth 20-minute fan documentary by filmmaker Jamie Benning includes rare outtakes, stills and all kinds of behind-the-scenes magic. Thank God George Lucas couldn’t do Jabba in CGI at that time, because what we got was wonderful. You will learn everything you ever wanted to know about our favorite giant slug.

Star Wars Death Star 1:1 Prop Replica For Your Desk

This is no desk toy. This is the mother of all desk toys. This 1:1 Death Star replica is probably the best Death Star you can buy for your home. It was made by Etsy seller iscreamcandy and has a circumference of 50cm and is made from polystyrene, acrylic paint, silicone and plastic. If only I had a place to put a Death Star right now. This thing is awesome.

All windows are hand punched and movie accurate, and even light up with LED lights. The detail is super nice. Vader and Emperor Palpatine would be proud.
