Video Of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Smaug Motion Capture

This uncut video Of Benedict Cumberbatch’s Smaug motion capture is awesome. It isn’t as easy as it seems to basically lie down and act evil when nothing is in front of you. Once you see him do his thing you may never look at Smaug or Benedict Cumberbatch in the same way.

Keep in mind that he is giving it his all, using his body and face masterfully. It’s hilarious, but it also shows what an amazing actor he is. There are probably only a few people in the world who could make a convincing dragon.

Sexy Psylocke Cosplay

Cosplayer Lossien is the best Psylocke ever in this amazing cosplay of Psylocke from the X-Men. She rocks that costume with style and grace, along with an attitude that captures the character perfectly. She is Betsy Braddock! And of course the photography is excellent.

In her own words:

“I have loved Psylocke’s design for a while, and when I started learning Betsy Braddock’s history, I was more and more intrigued. I ended up having left over fabric from my henchwoman costume and it was the perfect fabric. Purelight Cosplay had a wig she lent me, and I couldn’t let the opportunity slip past!

I made the costume in about a day, and love how it turned out. There’s a good chance I’ll be getting my own wig so I can wear her to a con!”

Supervillains Get Their Own 80s Album Covers

You have to love artist Rocky Davies‘ work. In this retro and fun series. Davies has taken some of TV, movies, and comic book’s greatest villains and given them their own 1980s album covers. They are bold and beautiful and look appropriate to the 80s.

They are all done in bright neon colors and classic ’80s style and each has an appropriate song to go with them. These are perfect. And now you can get prints at his Ageofnerd shop for just $20. I know what my next purchase is.

Star Wars Lord of the Rings Art

I’m blown away by digital artist Art-Calavera and this awesome Star Wars / Lord of the Rings crossover fan art series! It features Darth Saurus, Obi Wandalf Kenolorin, a riding Sithgul, a Mandarohan Soldier, and Princess Organadriel of the Organadrhim, Darth Maul, the Sith King of Angmar and Dwakiees.

The artist really blended both properties together perfectly and the colors are just perfect as well.

A Closer Look At Alien’s Horrifying Chestburster Scene

If you have the stomach for it, this in-depth look at one of the most shocking moments in cinema is worth your time. The chestburster scene in Ridley Scott’s Alien is a classic. Seeing that newborn xenomorph explode out of John Hurt’s torso was just amazing. The other actors on set were never warned about the eruption ahead of time.

In CineFix’s Art of the Scene series, they look at Alien’s chestburster scene in detail. It’s very enlightening and worth a look if you are a fan of the film.

Adorable Star Wars Kids Prints

These Star Wars Kids Art Prints are adorable. They are the work of Etsy seller octopustreehouse and they feature many of our favorite characters as kids. Like Boba Fett at a birthday party, the Wampa monster having a “sick day”, Jabba The Hutt at a carnival, the Rancor monster in a candy store and more.

They are perfect for a kids room or just as cool Star Wars art on your own wall. I love all of the little details. It’s what makes these images so cute and funny.

Batmobile iPhone Case

This iPhone 6 Batmobile case is an amazing replica of the Batmobile from Tim Burton’s Batman films! It looks more like an expensive toy than a phone case. It will cost you $50 and comes with LED lighting, a Batman logo projector, a utility belt replica over the home button, and pop-out front wheels so you can access the phone’s camera lens. Where does he get those wonderful toys?

Five-Foot-Long LEGO U.S.S. Enterprise

LEGO the final frontier. This is an amazing replica of the original U.S.S. Enterprise in LEGO. It is even more amazing when you consider that it was built so that all of the little studs are not visible. It was created by LEGO wizard and Star Trek fan Chris Melby.

He used 18,000 LEGO bricks and worked on it for 8 months. It measures over five feet long and these images just blow me away. Too bad we don’t have any official LEGO Star Trek sets.

The Muppets Strike Back

Most of us know that Frank Oz, the voice of Yoda, also brought Muppets like Fozzie and Miss Piggy to life. But did you know that the Muppets once visited the set of The Empire Strikes Back? We have the pictures to prove it.

These images were recently uploaded to the internet via Imgur and it’s like being in the 1980s all over again. There are several cool shots showing Kermit and Miss Piggy on the Dagobah set with the crew. And yes that includes Mark Hamill. If these pictures don’t make you smile, you are dead inside. Or a Sith.

Nerdscapes: Your Inner Nerd Meets Thrift Store Art

Etsy seller Nerdscapes is all about just that. Nerdscapes. The seller takes thrift store art and modifies each piece into nerd works of art that never existed before, but that we all want to own and admire.

The Blue Boy and Pink Lady paintings become a Sandperson and Admiral Ackbar. How about AT-ATs in the Alps? The TARDIS and Daleks in a landscape? A painting of the original Star Trek Crew, with Wesley Crusher dreaming that he is Kirk? There’s something for everyone here and it is all fun. Even Firefly in the old west.
