The ISD Tyrant – LEGO Imperial Star Destroyer

LEGO enthusiast Doomhandle built this amazing Imperial Star Destroyer. It is called the ISD Tyrant. That puny ship sitting next to it? That’s LEGO’s 2014 Star Destroyer set (75055), just for the sake of comparison. Yes, it blows that tiny set away, doesn’t it?

The Tyrant measures over 56 inches long and weighs about 70 lbs. It is so amazingly detailed, inside and out. Inside there are turbolifts, walkways, and even functional doors. There’s a full fledge hangar bay with ships and Darth Vader is in his meditation chamber. And more! This is a living breathing ship!

Alien Derelict Ship Statue

This Alien Derelict Ship Statue is a most have for fans of the Alien movies! You probably thought that this ship would never be available, but here it is in all it’s glory. This detailed model captures the organic nature of the Derelict ship and it looks like they got all of the details just right. It comes with a base designed to replicate the rocky surface of LV-426 and it measures about 21-inches long. It is limited to 500 pieces worldwide.

Amazing Wooden Millennium Falcon

Martin Creaney is an artist who works in wood, but that is an understatement. What he does is create masterpieces like this handmade Millennium Falcon. It’s made from over 3, 000 pieces, each piece individually worked. Just look at all of that fantastic detail. If Han was a carpenter, this would be his ship. I don’t even know if that makes any sense, I’m just blown away by this magnificent ship.

Star Wars Millennium Falcon Laser Engraved Clock

First Mega Bloks Star Trek Construction Sets

We had news earlier this year that Mega Bloks had secured the license to produce Star Trek construction toys. They aren’t LEGO, but hey, all of the images you see here are awesome, so how can you complain? At NYCC they are showing off the Enterprise and two other sets that will be released in the fall of 2016.

The biggest set is the USS Enterprise, which will apparently be over three thousand pieces and have light up nacelles to boot! It comes with two figurines: Kirk and Spock in dress uniforms. This ship is a 1/350 scale set that will cost $250. If you want something more affordable but no less cool, the Klingon D7 class will be $30. This one also comes with a figure, a Klingon obviously with a banner of the Empire on a display base.

The coolest one as far as I’m concerned is the transporter room from the mirror universe, featuring mirror Kirk and Spock, and a mid-transport Scotty. This set lights up with glow-in-the-dark elements. Also the mirror universe designs can be flipped around to make it look like the prime universe transporter room.

These are some awesome sets, that’s for sure. The bottom image is a Command chair made using Mega Blocks that is on display at NYCC.

Millennium Falcon Concept Car

The Millennium Falcon as a car looks like a million bucks. Or a million galactic credits, Whichever is worth more. I’m no good at currency conversion. This is a concept from artist roobi and it looks outstanding. I think Hot Wheels needs to hire this guy and up their Star Wars car designs.

In a car like this you just have to do your best to avoid any Imperial entanglements, not that the cops could catch you. All I know is, I don’t want to be anywhere near this thing when it goes to hyper drive.

Millennium Falcon Chip/Dip Tray

At last you can serve your guests snacks in style when you appear from the kitchen with this cool Millennium Falcon Chip/Dip Tray. Making spaceship noises and making it sway back and forth as you approach is mandatory. Just don’t spill the snacks.

Each one is handmade by laminating domestic and exotic hardwoods, grouping them for their color and characteristics. This puts any party or get together into Hyperdrive. It’s perfect for Star Wars movie marathons.

Battlestar Galactica: Blood and Chrome – CG Ship Interiors Before And After

Visual effects artist Doug Drexler recently uploaded this cool demo reel from BSG: Blood and Chrome, showing off the before and after of the CG ship interiors. What strikes me most is just how little the actors had to work with on set. Most of the shots shown here are almost entirely green screen with very few real world objects. It all came together impressively in the end.

Hot Toys 18-Foot 1/6 Scale Millennium Falcon

Hot Toys has gone insane! The cockpit by itself was nuts. Now they have an entire Falcon scaled to 12-inch figures!

The prototype will be on display at Ani-Com and Games Hong Kong this week. We have no idea about a price yet, but you can bet that most of us can’t afford it. Can you even imagine this thing in your home?

This Homemade Super Star Destroyer Has Lights And Sound

This home built scale model of an Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer was made by Fabio Delfino. It’s pretty stunning and even has a ton of tiny lights all over as well as sound. The model is based on the Star Wars: Dark Empire comic books and it was built with over 3000 pieces.

You are the man Fabio. You should definitely be working for the Empire.
