We don’t need that for now because we are not doing awesome intergalactic battles all over the Christmas tree. Still, it is the perfect gift for any star trek fan. It has a nice amount of detail and this tiny ship has a light that comes to life when you hit the ON switch. Merry early Christmas.

Artists have been re-imagining the ships for decades and now that The Orville is a success, people are starting to design their own ships for this series as well. This one is from imgur user jolievivienne and they call it the USS Sir Patrick. I can’t wait to see how other people envision The Orville’s ships. This one looks pretty cool. It’s a bit more pulled together than the actual Orville IMO.

I have always had a thing for the Klingon Bird of Prey. It is just such a beautifully designed ship from a time before the folks at Star Trek kind of gave up on good ship design. So I had to share this amazing LEGO creation from Kevin J. Walter. It took 25,000 LEGO pieces to create. The amount of detail that he created here is insane. I love these builds, but they also make me a bit sad, because LEGO should be offering sets like this so nerds like me can build them. On the other hand, it would probably cost a fortune so maybe it is for the best. Kevin had to create his version from a blueprint that he made himself.

Tie-X is Jason Battersby’s personal TIE Fighter design project. It took 4 months to create. His goal was to design a ship that fits into the Star Wars galaxy while also having his own design influences. I say job well done. This ship looks stunning. You can see many shots of it in action, chasing the Millennium Falcon, in the docking bay and on patrol. The design is just perfect.

Air Hogs is not quite finished with releasing Star Wars drones. They have enough drone ships that you could have one heck of a battle in the sky with your friends. This one is one of the most impressive yet. This R/C Star Destroyer drone is just under 12″ in width at its widest, and about 18″ long. It has light-up LEDs in the engines to make it look film accurate, a 250 foot range from the remote, and the actual structure of the ship is made out of a sturdy foam to keep it safe if it crashes. Which it will at some point. I have just one question. Where the hell was this when I was a kid?

Babylon 5 EAS Agamemnon Recreated In LEGO
This is a special treat for Babylon 5 fans. Ryan Olsen’s latest build is none other than the EAS Agamemnon. She was one of the first Omega class starships to be built by Earthforce following the Earth-Minbari War and she is a real beauty of a ship. She’s pretty spectacular in LEGO form as well. She is 116 studs long, with plenty of great detail. You can check out more shots on his Flickr page.

Star Trek: Discovery Teaser

Star Trek Discovery Teaser
The new Star Trek series now has a name. Star Trek: Discovery. That is also the name of the ship. Designation NCC-1031. I love that it is based on concept art that the legendary Ralph McQuarrie did for the first Trek motion picture. I’m not sure how I feel about this design yet though. Kinda love it, kinda hate it. The back section is reminiscent of an old Klingon ship. I like parts of the design. Like the red bits in front of the nacelles. The saucer is okay. The rest is… I just can’t see how they justify that this design would fit into Star Trek. The more I see it, the more I realize that that back end is pretty awful. Maybe it’s not the final design. Right? Maybe it’s a Klingon/Federation crew? It’s the only way this makes sense. I can get behind this, but it has to make sense.
