Buck Rogers In The 25th Century Twiki Robot 1:1 Scale Replica

I’m a big fan of Sci-Fi robots in general, but Twiki from Buck Rogers In The 25th Century has always had a special place in my heart. Behold the 1:1 Scale Replica of Buck’s little buddy. Sadly Dr. Theopolis is not with him, but that’s okay. All of the details are spot on. Besides, the creators are working on a version of him as well, so one day you can reunite them.

This replica is made from hand-cast urethane resin, with some nice looking stainless steel trim pieces and the head is even removable so you can position it how you like. He stands 48-inches tall and weighs in at 45 pounds! If that isn’t enough, this masterpiece also has a laser engraved and hand-numbered base plate. This limited edition collectible is must-have for Buck Rogers fans! Resident Dreamer Studios oversaw the creation of this replica, making it from available reference photos, screenshots, and measurements from Felix Silla’s screen worn costumes. This is as accurate as it is going to get.

Geeky ABC Wall Art For Kids

If you have a little geek in training and you would like to decorate his or her room with some cool geek decor, check out Etsy seller TofufuStudio for some neat ABC wall art.

There’s no better way to learn the alphabet. There are Jawas, Transformers, Daleks and more. Then once your little one is acquainted with all of these charcters you can start to introduce them to the Tv shows and movies that they hail from. Most are about $30 a piece, but well worth it. They are only young once, but you get to have these cool art pieces forever.

Star Wars Rebels Imperial Propaganda Posters

After Revenge of the Sith, the Empire is on the rise. But it can not conquer just an iron fist alone. It needs to win the hearts and minds of the Imperial citizens to recruit them to the cause. That’s why the Star Wars: Rebels team came up with propaganda posters for the Empire.

These posters were being handed out at San Diego Comic-Con earlier this year and they certainly fit the tone of the show. Of course we love any Propaganda posters around here as long as they are beautiful and menacing. These are!

This Is What The Edge Of Tomorrow Aliens Could’ve Looked Like

Check out this Edge of Tomorrow concept art from production designer Oliver Scholl. His art department created these for the film. Here we get to see how different the aliens (mimics) might have looked. I like both versions and wouldn’t want to go up against any of them, time loop or no.

There are also some art pieces that show off the evolution of the exo-suit. The artwork here was created by Steve Burg, Tani Kunitake, Ed Natividad, Jeff Julian, Harald Belke and others. Live. Die. Repeat.

Star Wars Characters On Earth

Star Wars took place a long time ago in a galaxy far, far away, but what if it took place in the here and now? Photographer Thomas Dagg shows us in these fun black and white photographs. These images have superimposed AT-ATs, the Millennium Falcon, TIE Fighters, and Star Wars characters in everyday settings. You’ll have to look closely at some of them to find the bit of Star Wars within. Like spotting Han Solo’s carbonite block by the trash.

Others are more obvious, like Jar Jar Binks laying in a dark alley. Someone finally got to him. These images are a fun look at what might have been if two worlds had collided. Hit the link above to see more at his website.

Beautiful Doctor Who Dalek Salt & Pepper Shaker Design

These Doctor Who Dalek salt and pepper shakers are stunning. The design is amazing right down to the packaging which will give you a chuckle when you read, “Pre-filled with genuine Skaro salt” on the side of the box.

Sadly these are just a mock-up, but I would totally buy these shakers. They are a classy and modern way to exterminate your taste buds with some extra seasoning. This set of beautifully designed shakers was created by graphic designer and illustrator Pablo Gelabert. I love these! Now I’m sad I can’t buy them.

Concept Art For Paramount London’s Star Trek Attraction

Paramount is working on several attractions around the world, and many will include Star Trek elements. Paramount London is in a consultation phase right now before work starts in full force, with a target of a 2020 opening. We have some intriguing new concept art for the park, including a Star Trek themed Starfleet Command zone that looks pretty stunning.

The Starfleet Command zone will be joined by Adventure Isle, Land of Legends, Cartoon Circus, Action Square, Port Paramount, and Entertainment City. Obviously the best attraction will be the Starfleet Command Zone and the concept art for it certainly looks bold.

Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo Book

Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo is an art book written and designed by artist Chris McDonnell that documents the creative process behind the television series Adventure Time. That process is completely fascinating to me. As fans know, it is so much more than a simple cartoon. It is so very layered with detailed and has a fairly epic scope.

The land of Ooo is simply amazing and wondrous. This hardcover book will take you deeper into the rabbit hole. It even features an introduction by Guillermo del Toro.

Magnificent Mandalorian Cosplay

Kimette and Jef do a great job cosplaying as a magnificent Mandalorian duo. I wouldn’t want to run into this pair in a dark alley somewhere on the edge of the Empire with no back up. I can see these two having their own show, where they get into trouble every week.

Love that armor! And that ponytail protruding from the helmet too. The photographer really created an amazing atmosphere too. Love it!

Famous Chunkies

Alex Solis’ Famous Chunkies series is a good reminder to eat healthy. It shows what some of our favorite superheroes, sci-fi characters and other icons would look like if they were obese over-eaters.

Being rotund and craving cheeseburgers, these guys and gals are not having any adventures, unless you consider diabetes to be an epic adventure. Great work Alex. It’s a good reminder to us all to take care of ourselves.
