Star Wars Return Of The Jedi Deleted Scene: Luke Finishes His Lightsaber

One of the things that struck me the first time I watched Return of the Jedi was that we never got to see Luke making his lightsaber. It seemed odd even then. That’s because it was a scene that was cut from the movie. Now we can finally see Luke putting the finishing touches on it at least, just before he heads off to Jabba’s palace.

You can watch the scene below. Basically he finishes it up, tests it and then sends the droids off ahead, so that he can rescue his friend Han Solo.

Star Wars III: Behind The Scenes Photos

If you are a fan of the Star Wars prequels, check out these fascinating and not-so-often-seen behind the scenes photos. Even if you hate the prequels, you can’t help but respect all of the hard work that went on behind the scenes of this final installment.

Yes it had a ton of CGI, but this movie also had some massive sets and a ton of prop work and models as can be seen in some of the images below.

What Back To The Future II Got Right And Wrong About 2015

Well, it’s 2015 so let’s see what Back To The Future 2 got right about the once future year that we are living in. Luckily for us, the folks at Stay Sourced have created this awesome infographic so that we can see how well the movie predicted the world as it is today.

I know one thing. We still don’t have any time traveling cars and the flux capacitor hasn’t been invented yet. Wait. Maybe that means the timeline has been changed! And Doc Brown never hit his head on the toilet! Great Scott!

Man Of Steel Behind-The-Scenes Special Effects Video

Say what you want about Man of Steel. Even if you didn’t like it, you have to admit that the movie looked great. The movie had some great visual effects. In this behind-the-scenes video, the visual effects team talk about how they came up with one of the most striking elements of Kryptonian technology. The “liquid geo”.

This gray metallic liquid can reshape and form into anything. It works really well in the movie, helping make Krypton technology even more alien. It’s fascinating stuff and worth a watch.

Neill Blomkamp Was Working on an Alien Movie

Neill Blomkamp working on an Alien movie? I like that idea. Can you even imagine what such a movie would look like? Well, just check out these images. The other day he posted some concept art from an Alien project that he was working on.

Apparently he was not working on this for the studio officially, but just for kicks. Now I just want to see this movie come to life. It would have been a wild ride, that’s for sure. Excuse me while I stare at these images for a few hours and dream of what could have been.

Raiders Of The Lost Ark Concept Art

Joe Johnston was a concept artist and character designer for Lucasfilm. He is responsible for the design of Boba Fett and many other cool things that we love. Guess what else? The Ark of the Covenant too. Here is some concept art from him from Steven Spielberg’s 1981 classic The Raiders of the Lost Ark.

It is pretty stunning. The version we saw in the film was really something, but this one just seems more biblical and alien to me. Can you imagine it all in gold and shining in the desert sun?
