Have a look at a bunch of original matte paintings and sketches from Blade Runner. I’ve lost a ton of time just looking at all of these. It’s always fascinating to see where these things began and how they came to be. It’s no wonder Blade Runner’s world was so alive. These paintings and drawings set the scene and tone. I could look at these all day and come away as impressed as I was when I first saw them.

This poster just pops out at you. Throughout, there are an array of one liners and references from RoboCop. The whole man/machine theme is expertly done here. You can almost see his veins pumping beneath his armor. Anthony says:
Robocop is one of my all-time favorite movies, and he’s the subject in a lot of Hero pop culture references. That’s why I wanted to approach Robocop in a more unconventional way, visually depicting him in a more vulnerable state than we’re used to seeing. Thematically, this concept explores the duality of man and machine by drawing a graphic connection between Murphy’s organic —and inorganic— elements, with a darker and more dystopian palette.

Check out this rare look behind the scenes of E.T. with Steven Spielberg and screenwriter Melissa Mathison. It’s like entering a time machine and going all the way back to 1982. This rare interview clip was apparently captured from a long-forgotten foreign broadcast. They manage to pack a lot into this 3-minute clip.
If you ever wondered why they chose to make the story take place on Halloween, Mathison talks about this here. She also talks about the script a bit. It’s a charming little clip from a more civilized age. It is worth your 3 minute investment.

Power Rangers fans should already know that Lionsgate has been developing a new Power Rangers movie with Saban Entertainment. It will be directed by Dean Israelite. One of the other directors who didn’t get the green light worked with conceptual artists Alex Ruiz and Gregory Semkow. This is some of what they came up with. It is unique and not at all what you might expect. These images are phenomenal. There are images of The Control Room, Alpha, T-Rex Zord, Zordon, and Rita Repulsa.
Ruiz says:
“This is some concept art I made for a director who was pitching his film version of Power Rangers. If you guys remember someone made an amazing PR fan film this year, which lit the fire under many asses to get a full on Hollywood film made. So, many a director jumped at the opportunity. Unfortunately our guy didn’t get it, it went to another director. Such is the nature of the film business.”
How much do you want to bet that the movie we get is not nearly as cool as this concept art. Sad, but it will probably be true.

Here are 3 new character posters for Batman v Superman: Dawn Of Justice, focusing on Batman, Superman and Wonder Woman. These three heroes are all looking intense and determined.
We still have a long wait for this movie, but this is one that I am super excited about. It has the potential to be HUGE. Batman and Superman will pound on each other, sure. But they are going to have to team up to face an even greater threat, with some help from Wonder Woman and a few others.
Batman v Superman is shaping up to be an awesome action packed movie. And it isn’t just Batman and Superman and the Justice League. Doomsday is making an appearance too. With Star Wars: The Force Awakens just days away, it’s a good time to ask ourselves just how close we are to having actual working lightsabers in this galaxy. Many Star Trek fans have been less than thrilled at the previous entries in the new reboot series. I count myself among them. Against all better judgement I am going to be cautiously optimistic about the next installment titled Star Trek Beyond. Whether you enjoy these new Trek movies or not, you have to acknowledge that this first trailer for Beyond is full of action. They seem to be going for a very Guardians Of The Galaxy vibe, which worries me a bit since they just need to do their own thing. Then again, look how well that worked out so…
