Rey And BB-8 Sixth Scale Figure Set By Hot Toys

Hot Toys has really outdone itself with this awesome Rey And BB-8 Sixth Scale Figure Set. Rey features a newly developed head sculpt with fine hair sculpture, two interchangeable looks, very nicely tailored and detailed outfit, detailed accessories, and a hexagonal figure stand with the Resistance’s emblem.

BB-8’s body is embedded with self-balancing mechanisms, has LED light-up eyes, and a specially designed Jakku desert-themed figure base attachable to Rey’s hexagonal figure stand.

They make a fantastic looking pair in this set. I’m loving the realism. I may have to get this as a gift for myself this Christmas.

R2-D2 PS4 Laptop Mod

This is the droid laptop I’ve been looking for. Don’t try to tell me otherwise with your fancy Jedi mind tricks. Ed Zarick created this awesome R2-D2 PS4 laptop. He used 3D printed replicas of Artoo’s parts. It even sounds just like R2-D2 thanks to an Adafruit WaveShield.

It is a more streamlined PS4 from a more civilized age. I love all of the detailing. It is just perfect. Check out the video below.

Star Wars R2-D2 Bluetooth Speaker

I can’t believe this wasn’t released years ago, but better late than never. This Star Wars R2-D2 Bluetooth Speaker is arriving in early September for $50. It includes a rechargeable battery that can be charged with a microUSB cable, speakerphone capabilities, and a 3.5-millimeter audio jack for plugging in other audio sources.

Now when you talk on the phone, R2 will always be in on the conversation when he’s not serving up your favorite tunes. Not bad for a droid head on your desk.

Star Wars R5-D4 Sixth Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles

When I was a kid back in 1977, my favorite droid was R2-D2 of course, but my second favorite was R5-D4. I just really liked the color scheme and the design. R5 was an awesome droid. That’s why Luke almost picked him. Now you can display the best version of R5-D4 that you can buy. This Star Wars R5-D4 Sixth Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles is simply stunning.

Slightly larger than R2-D2, Sideshow’s R5-D4 Sixth Scale Figure measures about 8.6 inches tall from antenna to treads. The details are spot on and frankly, have me falling in love with this droid all over again. Every detail of the R5 unit is faithfully replicated, from his desert-worn exterior, to his advanced articulation. Just look at that distinctive head and authentic holographic details. That head can swivel nearly 360 degrees, while a magnetic restraining bolt grants access to a variety of compartments and hinged panels. He also suffers a pop-up “bad motivator,” which is super cool.

He is only $139.99 from Sideshow Collectibles and I’m buying one right away.
