I had no idea that everything could be BB-8-ified. Check this out. BB-8 masquerades as other Star Wars characters, and even DC and Marvel superheroes. Is there anything or anyone that LEGO BB-8 can not mimic? Handoko Setyawan has taken the droid’s simple shape, and by playing with colors, transforms it into a bunch of familiar characters. This is so cool. I love R2-D2, but I never saw him do this.

I’ve seen a lot of R2-D2 mugs over the years, but this design is elegant and clean. It is a mug worthy of the droid and perfect for my morning coffee. Now if only I had a droid to actually make my coffee and bring it to me. Still waiting on that. Hurry up technology.

Artist Martin Hernandez must be part Jawa, because he does a great job of taking apart R2-D2 and C-3PO, so we can see what makes these droids tick. And while he doesn’t show off a ton of their inner workings, you have to love the style of these pieces. He shows us just enough to entice us and remind us that these fan favorites are machines despite our love for them. I would love to see him tackle other Star Wars droids.
It’s not everyday you see a protocol droid that becomes a well-known bounty hunter and thief, but that is what 4-LOM is. This Star Wars 4-LOM Sixth Scale Figure by Sideshow Collectibles is a stunningly accurate representation of this dangerous droid. If you are like me, you love all of the bounty hunters that Vader assembled in The Empire Strikes Back. That makes this guy a must have for me. That sculpt and the details are just amazing.
Artist Evgeny Rusolovski created this awesome Star Wars African Totem version of C-3PO. This is certainly one of the most unique takes on the droid that I have seen in a while. I would love to see what the artist could do with other Star Wars characters as totems.
