This fun concept is a fictional collaboration between Star Trek and Oakley for a Goerdi LaForge inspired visor that looks awesome and presumably would have some really cool features. It’s gotta be better than Google Glass right? The artist displayed it on a Terminator head just for fun.
Don’t like Spock in his TOS uniform? That’s cool. Dress him any way you want with these cool Mr. Spock Paper Dolls created by María Corredera. Spock comes dressed in his undies, but you can dress him up in anything you like. Accessories include clothing from episodes like Mirror, Mirror, Bread and Circuses, Errand of Mercy and more. It’s fun to dress Spock up the way you want.
G33kplates makes custom light switch plates to geek up your home. The best ones are these Star Wars themed plates that come in a variety of styles and characters. They’ll make your home seem like it is in a galaxy far, far away. The BB-8 version is one of my favorites. These are all classy and geeky.
They say that the art of reading books is dead, but I don’t believe that for a minute. As long as cool Superhero Bookshelves like this exist, reading books will be alive and well. Can you believe these amazing designs? They come from Burak Doğan, a product and industrial designer in Istanbul. These shelves provide a visual flair for your favorite pastime, reading comics and graphic novels. These would make any home into an awesome superhero hideaway.
This work in progress from artist Abram Baclagon is a collection of Super Heroes designed as labels for bathrooms. You might be asking why? well, aside from being fun, he thought it might be a fun alternative for private kids parties or kid-themed restaurants. Sounds good to me. In fact, I say we use these everywhere. He has separated each hero by team, arranging them according to their first appearance in the group. Their costumes are based on what they were wearing that same first appearance. Even the character’s height is accurate.
He put a ton of work into this project. How awesome would it be to see these on bathroom doors? Heck, Marvel and DC should at least be using these in their offices.
Here is a fun design for some Adventure Time playing cards that unfortunately don’t exist. This was created for Hero Complex Galaxy’s recent Cardistry show, where a bunch of artists gave their own artistic interpretations on unique playing cards. This Adventure time version from Salvador Anguiano is really exceptional and captures the spirit of the show. You can see more at Hero Complex Gallery.
Sometimes simple lines can make a dramatic statement. Take these awesome logo animations by Montreal artists Simon Lagneau and Sylvain Rogé of Baboon Creation. They created some really eye-catching animations of popular superhero logos. These are just simple lines, but they are super effective at getting your attention when animated beautifully. When we think about the characters in Batman’s world, we don’t often use the word cute. I mean, Batman is tough and brooding, Two-Face is psychotic and half of his face is grotesque. The Joker is evil. Gotham City is not a cute place. Well, Mexico based artist René Córdova has repopulated Batman’s world and given it a cute makeover with these fantastic watercolor portraits.
Sure, the bad guys and gals are still bad, but how can you stay mad at cute characters like this? Everyone is so cute, I’m not even sure who to root for anymore.
You might remember Encho Enchev from that sweet Batmobile concept we featured recently. Well, he is full of great ideas and here’s another. Check out this beautifully crafted concept for a Star Wars Imperial fighter. It’s like somebody smashed a snowspeeder and a TIE Fighter together in the loveliest way possible.
The challenge here was to effectively combine shapes and elements to create believable model that can be part of the imperial air force.
This makes me wish that he had designed the ships from the prequels. I wasn’t a big fan of the ships in those films. Something like this would have been much more believable.
Melbourne, Australia based Kode Logic designed these awesome mashups that put superhero styling all over Nikes. Some of DCs and Marvels best are represented here. He really has a great eye for design. He even managed to give the Superman version a cool cape without it looking silly. Really digging The Flash versions too.
I would love to see sneakers for sale that looked like this. I can easily imagine these heroes wearing these shoes with their outfit. Check out some of his previously featured work here.
