Looks Named After Superheroes

Looks named after superheroes
Danish Ahmed, an artist from Mumbai, India, created these cool looks that are named after superheroes. This is pretty clever and there is a superhero name for every look.

Batman sports the battered look, the Hitler mustache is called the Robochop, while Superman’s mullet is dubbed the Super-Mane. The next time you see somebody with these looks, you’ll know the superhero name for it.

I’m really digging these illustrations from Raul Aguiar. These are some murals that Liferay(A software company in his hometown) asked him to create. They are inspired by games and cartoons that he loved as a child. That’s why there’s an odd mashup of Chrono Trigger, Doctor Who and Miyazaki as if it were a strange dream.

I really love the style of these images and I’m sure you can relate. Also below: Dungeons and Dragons, the Liferay mascot with a bit of Wall-e thrown in, the mascot with a Back To The Future hoverboard as well as R2-D2 and the Hitchhiker’s Guide book. I’m really liking the Han and Leia restroom signs too.

The Batesville Class of 2015 from Arkansas has some grade A nerds in their midst and they decided to do something super cool for their graduation covers. Ross Jones took care of the setup and photography, Lauren Jones did the makeup, Lua Jones coordinated the shoot and Matt Baker did layout and photoshop. The end result are some graduation covers worthy of Starfleet Academy. Great job guys and gals.

Wolverine’s Animated History

The X-Men movie franchise has been entertaining, but you have to admit that the timeline has become kind of confusing over the years. That’s why Denis Mallon decided to explore the storyline of Wolverine. One of our favorites from the series. This should help clear things up for you.

He designed and animated this motion graphics piece that spans the original X-Men trilogy, X-Men Origins: Wolverine, his cameo in X-Men: First Class, and 2013’s The Wolverine. As Denis points out, he has had a rough history. He has fought in major wars, survived an atomic bomb and much more. Hey, at least he gained those sweet metal claws.

Live Long And Prosper: A Spock Tribute

It’s been a few weeks since Leonard Nimoy passed away and it is going to take time to come to terms with that if you are one of the many people that he touched. Argentinian artist Juan Miranda created this stunning retro tribute to the original Vulcan.

We will never see another soul like his again. Kirk was right. His was the most human. And as long as we remember him, he is not really dead.

These Bizarre LEGO Mash-Ups Make Awesome Posters

Buenos Aires based Alexandre Tisser created this series of prints for a new campaign titled, Fiction meets Fiction. Many LEGO addicts have switched the heads on their minifigures, kids and adults alike, but Alexandre does it to great effect here.

Homer/Wolverine is the best. He could slice up endless doughnuts as he pops them in his mouth. Vader in a Kimono is pretty awesome too. LEGO once again proves to be a great creative tool for great minds.

Low Poly Adventure Time Posters

These minimalist low poly Adventure Time prints are mathematical! Behance user Sarah Hunt created these in Illustrator CC and I think they turned out amazing. All of your Adventure Time favorites are here. Finn and Jake, Princess Bubblegum,Lumpy Space Princess, BMO, Marceline, Ice King, Peppermint Butler and Lady Rainicorn.

We can never have too much Adventure Time and these posters are sure to make your day.

Each design takes a minimalistic approach to reduce the characters to their predominant traits, while using polygon textures as an aesthetic design element (used to amplify detail where possible). For example, Space Princess is extra lumpy, Ice King’s crown is extra reflective, etc.
