Makeup Tutorials That Transform You Into Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy

Makeup artist and body painter Alexys Fleming has released two makeup tutorial videos that will teach you how to transform yourself into some DC Comics vixens. I’m talking about the villainous Harley Quinn and Poison Ivy.

It’s amazing how good she is at painting all of the details and she does it on the first try every time. If I tried to paint myself in the mirror it would look like a horror story. The end results are great, especially Harley Quinn. You can find more cool tutorials on her YouTube channel.

Man am I beat. It’s tiring being a geek. There are so many movies to watch, so much merch to collect, so much news to absorb everyday. I just need to lay my head down- Hey, what’s this? These pillows from GEEKandtheCHIC are perfect for a geek like me.

These pillows are super stylish and they have pillows that represent everything from Batman to Harry Potter. Most of them are only $25. I’m gonna get several of these and decorate the whole place. Make my own cuddly crossover.

Amazing Heath Ledger Joker Cosplay

As far as Heath Ledger Joker cosplay goes, this has got to be the best of the best. You’ll swear that you are looking at Ledger playing the villain once again. It is just amazing and uncanny.

The Joker, in this case, is actually Jesse Oliva. The photography was done by York in a Box. They obviously make a great team. This is really crazy. If only we could have seen more of Ledger’s Joker.

Repurposed Sci-Fi Vintage Vinyl Record Clocks

VinylEvolution sells all kinds of cool vintage vinyl records that have been turned into amazing geek clocks. They have everything from Batman to Jurassic Park to Star Wars and the Terminator. They are groovy and geeky. Pun intended. They would look great in any mancave or geeked out home. The details are super nice and they are affordable. I’m not sure how they are cutting them so nicely, but the end result is pretty amazing.

If they don’t have the theme you are looking for they will probably make it for you.

Superheroes As Manatees

Artist Joel Harris imagined what some of our favorite superheroes would look like if they were manatees. Spoiler alert: They are all pretty fat and look very much the same out of their costumes.

Check out Captain Amanatee, Supermanatee, Batmanatee, Spider-Manatee, Green Lantern Manatee and many more. Sure they are bound to be slow and they will always stop to get a fish treat, but you don’t want to mess with these chubby heroes. Check out more on Joel’s Deviantart page. Fun stuff.

Batman Signature Series Batgirl Maquette

Batgirl is looking lovely as ever in this maquette from Sideshow Collectibles and Tweeterhead. It’s the latest release from the Batman Signature Series. The DC Comics Batgirl DC Comics Maquette depicts Yvonne Craig as Barbara Gordon in her classic purple Batgirl Suit and this maquette even includes Batgirl’s secret door.

Don’t miss this one Batgirl fans. That sculpt and superb detailing make this one an amazing addition to your collection.

Looks Named After Superheroes

Danish Ahmed, an artist from Mumbai, India, created these cool looks that are named after superheroes. This is pretty clever and there is a superhero name for every look.

Batman sports the battered look, the Hitler mustache is called the Robochop, while Superman’s mullet is dubbed the Super-Mane. The next time you see somebody with these looks, you’ll know the superhero name for it.

Cute Batgirl Art by Jonathan Glabas

I love this Batgirl fan art created by artist Jonathan Glabas. Isn’t she stunning? This illustration was part of the Jules Jammal Superhero Art Auction awhile back, where 100% of the funds raised went toward funding annual scholarships for future SJSU animation and illustration students.

You have to love any art that also benefits good causes. I really enjoy what he did with Batgirl here. She is totally adorable and still badass.

Haunted Arkham Asylum Print

This is a clever take on Arkham Asylum. This Haunted Arkham Asylum print is a fun version of the paintings from the stretching room in Disney’s haunted mansion. Yeah, I think it’s much better as a haunted Arkham with Batman and friends.

Superheroes Drawn As Adorable Kids

We are used to seeing superheros in times of crisis. Kicking butt, taking names, wrestling with grown up issues. So it’s refreshing to see some of our favorite heroes as kids, hard at play rather than the tough work of cleaning up the streets.

These illustrations come from artist Alberto Varanda and they are bound to make you smile. They have a bit of a Norman Rockwell vibe. Enjoy.
