X-Men / Jem And The Holograms Cosplay

The live-action Jem movie may have left fans cold, but this fantastic cosplay from Skirts and Swords is pretty awesome. The ladies of the X-Men have merged with the stars of Jem to form a new amazing band. These characters and the fashions seen here are based on artwork by Rey Arzeno of Rage Gear Studios.

Totally uncanny. Totally 80s. This is a merging that I never thought I would see. So now we know what the X-Women would look like as a kick-ass band.

Stan Lee Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys

Stan “The Man” Lee. You know him. You love him. He is responsible for most of the cool comic book characters that we love. And now he has his own Stan Lee Sixth Scale Figure by Hot Toys. This figure looks just as lively as the real Stan Lee. You might say the resemblance is uncanny! This legendary creator of comics features a newly developed head sculpt, meticulously sculpted hands and arms, finely tailored outfit, a director’s chair, other detailed accessories, and a figure stand.

What else can you say but, “Excelsior!”

Let him make a cameo appearance in your own collection.

Artists RevampThe Ghostbusters Logo

Some logos are instantly recognizable. We know them as soon as we see them and they resonate with us. Ghostbusters has one of the most recognizable movie logos of all time. It is brilliant in it’s simplicity. An image of a ghost trapped in a “no” symbol. It is also perfect for the movie that it represents, which is not always the case. As you may or may not know, this design was created by producer and designer Michael C. Gross.

There was a recent art show in Los Angeles celebrating him. It was called “No Ghost Logos.” Over 30 artists were a part of the show and each had their own unique take on the Ghostbusters logo. Some fun examples are below. I love these. They are all very well done.

Alien Next Door

I think we are all terrified of the Xenomorphs from the Alien movies. But what if these creatures weren’t scary? Alien Next Door is a picture book by artist Joey Spiotto. It imagines that the alien from the Alien movies are cute and cuddly friends. And somehow it works. Who would have thought that these scary creatures could be so adorable?

But don’t get too complacent while you are admiring this cute alien. The real versions will still kill you dead and rip out your insides.

Bender From Futurama Becomes… Everyone

Bite my shiny metal bat! What? Andy Whittingham created this fun mashup featuring our favorite wisecracking robot, Bender Bending Rodríguez as, well, just about every geek character we love. Bender as Batman, Bender as Boba Fett, C-3PO and more.

Bender’s camouflage technique is is pretty awesome, now if he could only change his shape, we might be fooled.

Style Wars: Haute Sci-Fi Couture

Milan, Italy based artist Francesco Grandazzi created this fun mashup between the Star Wars universe and iconic Fashion, Luxury and Style brands. It really works quite well. I especially like what he did with the Polo brand, changing it to Solo and showing Han riding a Tauntaun.

I could see these as tags on Star Wars themed clothes from these companies. This is a fun way to play with branding and add some Star Wars flair. Francesco has a good eye for design.

Lady Deadpool Costume

It may be too late for you ladies to order this Lady Deadpool Costume for Halloween this year, but you can still wear it for general cosplay and just plain awesomeness. This costume looks accurate and ultra sexy. Like Lady Deadpool just jumped out of the comic book page.

Then again, I’m s sucker for a woman in uniform. No matter how or where you wear this, you are going to be the best Wanda Wilson ever.
