We got our first glimpse of the new Star Wars Land during The Wonderful World of Disney: Disneyland 60 on ABC. That’s where a bunch of new concept art was revealed for the theme park. I really like what I’m seeing here. These pieces of concept art all look like locales I would love to visit in the park. These all look so good. Fans are going to love the Millennium Falcon, not to mention the rest of it. There’s also an experience with various droids and aliens, and if that isn’t enough, how about extraterrestrial markets where you can challenge your taste buds with exotic food? Sounds like there will be all kinds of exciting things going on.

The 1:12 Collective series from Mezco is still looking great. We’ve seen Spock and Sulu so far and now the latest is Captain Kirk. Like the others, Kirk is digitally modeled for an accurate likeness to the actor’s features. He comes in a series accurate uniform and stands 6 1/2-inches tall, with over 28 points of articulation!
This art mixes Star Wars and Regency era art to create something really breathtaking and original. It was created by artist The Real McGee. I hope they create many more. We featured a Fifth Element multipass awhile back, but this one here is the officially licensed prop replica. It is a 1:1 scale prop replica from The Fifth Element, Luc Besson’s sci-fi classic. It features a removable tray to insert an ID card and personalize it the way you want. This replica is 6 1/2-inches wide by 5-inches tall. If there are two things that summarize the best parts of my childhood, they would be the vintage Star Wars action figures from Kenner and the Star Wars trading cards. I collected as many as I could find of both. So imagine my surprise when I came across this. Matt Davenport’s homemade Star Wars figure trading cards are awesome. He recreates these vintage cards using vintage Kenner action figures.
They look so good you would swear they came out of the packages and have a bubble gum smell. Matt is a news anchor in Idaho and obviously he has been a Star Wars fan his whole life. The idea came to him when he was taking pictures of his toys. I would so love to collect these cards.
