First Trailer For Passengers

passengers featured
Chris Pratt and Jennifer lawrence are about to have an awesome romance/adventure in the upcoming Passengers. It’s about two people who mysteriously wake up from hibernation on a spaceship way too early only to face a disaster soon after. The movie actually looks pretty fun and Pratt and Lawrence look like they work great together. They have been trying to make this movie for years and soon we will finally get a chance to see it.

Rare Teaser Trailer For Revenge of the Jedi

Rare Teaser Trailer For Revenge of the Jedi
This is a cool piece of Star wars history that most of us have never seen before. This teaser was recently acquired by the Academy Film Archive. It may in fact be the very first teaser trailer for George Lucas’ third film in the saga, Return of The Jedi. Of course back then it started off titled Revenge of The Jedi. Then Lucas changed his mind as he is apt to do.

The Academy says that this brief teaser was only attached to a brief theatrical run of a double feature of the first two Star Wars movies in the U.K. It debuted so early that it still has “Revenge” as part of the title, and it promised a Christmas 1983 release. The movie actually came out much earlier. This is a great piece of cinema history. They obviously cobbled it together very quickly. Most of it is simply stills from the film. It is great to see what those people in that UK theater would have seen. Can you imagine how excited they must have been for this film?

Independence Day: Resurgence – Extended Trailer

independence day
20th Century Fox has released an awesome new trailer for Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day: Resurgence. This extended trailer is almost 5 minutes long! It has all kinds of new footage and this movie certainly looks like a fun action flick. It has been 20 years since we bested the aliens. In that time, humanity has been preparing for round 2, but so have the aliens. One thing is for sure, the Earth is going to take a beating.

Ickerman: Visually Striking Sci-Fi Proof of Concept Trailer

I love what I see of this cool proof of concept trailer called Ickerman. It looks like Blade Runner and part chase movie. Right from the get go we see this guy as a loner in a futuristic world. His clothes are from another time, he’s driving an old Ford, while all around him the futuristic vehicles are in pursuit of him. Here’s the synopsis:

Taking place in a futuristic megalopolis where new technologies and virtual reality are ruling society, ICKERMAN is an original story following a nostalgic teacher obsessed with 35 mm films and old cars. After a string of disturbing events, he falls into his imaginary world and starts acting like the characters he admires to deliver his best friend from the guru of this digital era.

The movie is to be directed by French filmmaking team Raphaël Hernandez and Savitri Joly-Gonfard. Ickerman is to be their first feature film. They are currently looking for funding, hoping to start shooting the full film in 2017. I know I would like to see what they can do after watching that trailer, which was shot in one night in Paris. The VFX were completed in just three months with one VFX artist working on it. The budget? Only 1,000 euro. I’m impressed. I hope they get the funding and make this movie.

First Trailer For Star Trek Beyond

Many Star Trek fans have been less than thrilled at the previous entries in the new reboot series. I count myself among them. Against all better judgement I am going to be cautiously optimistic about the next installment titled Star Trek Beyond. Whether you enjoy these new Trek movies or not, you have to acknowledge that this first trailer for Beyond is full of action. They seem to be going for a very Guardians Of The Galaxy vibe, which worries me a bit since they just need to do their own thing. Then again, look how well that worked out so…

The trailer is rocking the classic Beastie Boys song “Sabotage”. I’m hoping for some good Trek. It’s been awhile.

Boba Fett Fan Film Movie Trailer

Sometime in the next few years we are going to see Boba Fett back on the big screen. Word is that Lucasfilm has been working on a spinoff movie starring the famous bounty hunter. It may not be confirmed yet, but we know that it’s coming. It might look something like this trailer made by Director Eric Demeusy.

This fan-trailer is called Star Wars: The New Republic Anthology. Boba Fett escapes the Sarlacc Pit and makes his way to his ship, Slave I. The costume looks great, the music is right on target. It makes me itch for Fett’s new movie. It is a great time to be a Star Wars fan.

Ripper: A Batman Fan Film

James Campbell needs your help to complete his very awesome film named Ripper. The film is nearly complete, but they need money for the final 20% of the film. Judging by the trailer here, it is a worthy investment. It looks really amazing with some nice production value.

Batman against Jack The Ripper is a great story. It’s based on the 1991 Elseworlds graphic novel, Gotham By Gaslight, which is a classic. Go here to help James finish this cool project.

I could easily watch a full length version done in this style. Awesome stuff.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Official Teaser #2

Lucasfilm and J.J. Abrams are taking us back to a galaxy far, far away. And man am I stoked! This is a stunning trailer and it was well worth the wait. I am so relived that JJ Abrams did not try to change it like he did with Star Trek. Everything seems prefect. Might we actually get the perfect Star Wars movie? It sure looks like it.

Predator: Dark Ages Fan Film

This is such an awesome idea for a fan film. Predator: Dark Ages is exactly what it sounds like. Predator hunting people down in medieval times. Something about that sentence makes me very happy. Probably because I love a good Predator movie. The film was written and directed by James Bushe.

Set during the Crusades, the faith & fighting skills of a group of Templar Knights is put to the test when they encounter the Predator. Their battle is the thing Myths and Legends are born from.

The trailer does what it is supposed to do. It leaves you wanting more. I can’t wait to see the final film. The full version will be released in a few short weeks. Keep an eye peeled for this one.
