The Bobaskull Project

The Bobaskull Project
Bobaskull is from sculptor Samuel Boulesteix and designer P. Kenyo. They are limited to 194 +5 Artist proofs. Bobaskull comes in 6 Material colors and is now available here. Pretty cool. We’ve seen plenty of Star Wars inspired art and toys, but there’s something about stuff like this that is so fresh and interesting.

Stay On Target: Hot Wheels TIE Fighter vs. X-Wing Cars

Stay On Target Hot Wheels TIE Fighter vs. X-Wing Cars
Hot Wheels are on fire right now. They are coming out with some really unique toys all of the sudden, like that 1964 Buick Riviera with Spock leaning on the hood. This set may just be Hot Wheels’ coolest Star wars car set yet. Hot Wheels has revealed a new Death Star trench run set that features some amazing four-wheeled versions of TIE Fighters chasing an X-Wing.

The packaging even features lights and sound effects, along with three short sections of Hot Wheels track to expand your racetrack. This set will exclusively be available at the Mattel booth at SDCC if you’re attending. You can also pre-order it from MattyCollector. I wonder what else the company will unveil.

Medicom MAFEX 2001: A Space Odyssey Spacesuits in Red and Yellow

Medicom MAFEX 2001 A Space Odyssey Spacesuits in Red and Yellow
Open the pod bay doors HAL… I have some cool new toys being delivered. Medicom has done an outstanding job recreating the spacesuits that Dave Bowman and Frank Poole wore aboard the spaceship Discovery. These 6.2″ action figures are exactly the kind of toys I love. Great looking toys based on great vintage movies. Look at all of that detail.

I have always loved these spacesuits. Each figure comes with alternate hands. You can pre-order them right now from Amiami. I know I’m about to. Don’t tell my wife.

The Mega Bloks U.S.S. Enterprise Is Huge

The Mega Bloks U.S.S. Enterprise Is Huge
The 50th anniversary is a big year for Star Trek Mega Bloks. They are offering several TOS sets and models of ships. The first wave of these sets is now complete, now that the largest is finally available. And wow, it was worth the wait. You can pre-order it right now and it will be released in July.

The USS Enterprise set has 3,098 pieces. The model is 85cm long assembled. It has light-up nacelles and two figurines of Kirk and Spock. If that isn’t enough, the display base is a miniature of the ship’s dedication plaque. This is a serious Mega Bloks Starship.

New Star Trek Barbie Dolls

New Star Trek Barbie Dolls
Mattel has announced a new line of Star Trek Barbies. These are due to arrive in June and the characters are Uhura, Kirk, and Spock. Amazon has Kirk and Spock right now, but no listing for Uhura. However, you can get all 3 in a set. Uhura looks absolutely lovely and makes a perfect Barbie doll. I assume they will release more characters as well as a scale bridge set since we can see it in some of these images.

Gal Gadot Wonder Woman Barbie

Gal Gadot Wonder Woman Barbie
As a nerd, I appreciate well designed toys. Especially since we’ve all seen our share of bad ones. I even love stuff that I would never play with. Like this Wonder Woman Barbie based on Gal Gadot. I just don’t make a habit of playing with dolls. Sorry.

But if I did, I would pick this one up. She has some nice upgrades from her previous version, like a royal blue, gold lamé lined hooded cape, a paneled skirt, and a metallic red bustier. It’s all in the details and they really nailed it here. She also has an updated hairstyle and a cool gold shield. I hope lots of little girls get this one and have fun.

Skull Wars – Star Wars Skull Models

Skull Wars - Star Wars Skull Models
We have tons of Star Wars collectibles that we can buy, but if you like the weirder stuff as I do, these Star Wars skull models are a great addition to your own collection. They come from 3DKtoys and these parody skulls based on characters from the franchise are pretty damn cool. You can get them by backing this project on Kickstarter.

You can collect all 15 designs. A single skull is $15, three skulls are $55, and a full set is $250. I don’t know about you, but I need these in my life. You could display them on a sand-filled Tatooine diorama.
