Doctor Who Rose Tyler Cosplay

Whenever I revisit series 1 of New-Who I am always struck by what an amazing job Russell T Davies did in order to make it an instant classic and insure that it sticks around. You may disagree, but I think that the Doctor’s relationship with Rose Tyler was a big part of the success. So I thought that this cosplay by Princess Nightmare was a fun tribute.

“I have the pre add Tardis in and post. On some I clearly like one version better than the other and on some I don’t know. I am not used to being a blonde, this has been interesting this year I have done a lot of blondes and it has gone better than I ever thought it would…I love this shoot, I love these photos. I have only been a Doctor Who fan for a few years but I really love Rose and this was a costume I was able to get the 100% right pieces for…the jacket, the shoes, they are all the right brand right style and we know how I feel about detail. Definitely the most comfortable ‘costume’ I have ever shot in…I don’t look like me…but I think I like that, I think sometimes it’s good to not look like me, sometimes change is good. So I know a lot of people have been waiting for this one…so here it is!”

TARDIS Siege Mode Cube Replica

Well, series 8 of Doctor Who certainly had it’s share of interesting moments. I felt like the stories mostly hit the mark and I’m happy to say that Peter Capaldi feels like the kind of Doctor that we have been missing for years now. One of the most fun episodes was Flatline. Otherwise known as “Clara I shrunk the TARDIS”. It introduced the TARDIS’ Siege Mode.

Now you can own a replica. Rubbertoereplicas has made an amazing prop of the Siege Cube with a price tag of just $80. Just look at that metallic sheen. That luster is achieved by using cast resin filled with aluminum powder. See how it was made here. It just looks so shiny and awesome.

TARDIS Birthday Card Really Is Bigger On The Inside

Behance user Cindy Graf created this excellent TARDIS birthday card. And it really is bigger on the inside. It folds down to 6″ X 9″ and even has a matching envelope with the Doctor and a character that she made. This would be the best birthday card ever. Man, I wish it was my birthday.

Basically this card transforms into the TARDIS, complete with a 10th Doctor, the console room, the pool, the library… It probably even has the eye of harmony in there somewhere too. Way to think outside of the box Cindy. Or did you think inside of the box? Anyway, good job. It’s awesome.

Spaceship Skeletal Surveys: The Anatomy Of Sci-Fi Starships

Kansas City, Missouri artist Josh Ln has a fun and creative anatomical illustration series of famous spaceships from science fiction. The series is titled Spaceship Skeletal Surveys and features ships from SciFi films and TV shows. Now you can see what they would look like if they had a skeletal structure.

We have the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, the Enterprise from Star Trek, the TARDIS from Doctor Who, Firefly and a viper from Battlestar Galactica, all showing off their anatomy. You can order prints and all kinds of apparel with these five designs printed on them from Josh’s Society6 store.

Doctor Who Inspired Money: Don’t Spend It All In Time And Space

Artist Randi Sparkman created these clever Doctor Who inspired bank notes, which I’m assuming are only printed on Gallifrey. Which is a shame really, because along with the destruction of the home planet of the Time Lords, the currency tanked. Then it was all revived again when all 13 Doctor’s saved the planet, so it’s all good.

This currency features Daleks, the TARDIS, the 9th Doctor and the 10th. As currency goes, this is some of the coolest I have ever seen. I’d love to have a pocket full. It beats plain old galactic credits anyday.
