Nissan has been working with Industrial Light & Magic and Burbank’s Vehicle Effects shop to produce a series of limited edition vehicles modeled after characters from Star Wars. And you know what? The Phasma-inspired Nissan Maxima is pretty stunning. As long as it performs better than Phasma did in The Force Awakens anyway. Because if this vehicle mimics her actual storyline as well as her aesthetics, this car is going to stall in the driveway.

Foundmi App Enabled Bluetooth Tracking Tags are pretty cool. Not only do they come in a variety of cool pop culture characters, but they also perform useful functions, like allowing you to track down your keys, your phone or anything else. And these tags are small enough to fit on your keychain. There’s no need to lose anything ever again. Foundmi recently sent us a sample so we could check it out and let you know if it is worth getting some.
So what did we think? Well, after testing out a Stormtrooper version, here are our thoughts:
Setup-
The accompanying app that you need to use on your phone is 128MB, which is a bit large for an app that provides such a basic function. Then when attempting to sign up (via both email and Facebook), the app would just say that an error has occurred and give no indication as to what the actual problem is. To solve this issue, I simply waited a day to see if something had changed, and it did! Perhaps just bad luck… but wait there’s more!
While trying to pair your foundmi keychain, if your location services is not available, the app will send you in a loop of testing the Bluetooth connection, again just saying that an error had occurred. So we were off to an annoying start, but hey this stuff happens, so I’m not holding it against the company.
First Impressions once it started working-
It looks like the app can support being connected to multiple keychains at a time, which is handy.
The app was a little confusing to get working, but once I got it to work, the functions of the app were obvious and streamlined.
Interestingly, you can use it as a selfie taking button as long as it is paired to your device. Again, a cool feature.
It can show you the status of the battery in the foundmi keychain as well and Alexa can ring the foundmi keychain.
The ringing is loud enough that it can be heard from an adjacent room, while muffled under clothing and behind a closed door. Big noise for such a small device! Good news, because you will find your belongings.
The device’s bluetooth connection range is standard at about 100 meters.
The device can also make your phone to ring.
The location identifier did a good job approximating the location of the keychain, but the address was not exact (as expected!)
The bottom line is that they need to streamline things on the app end and setup, but the device really is as capable as they claim. It will help you to find your lost items. Plus, these tracking tags are all adorable to boot. They come in all kinds of cute characters, whether you are into Star Wars, Batman, Wonder Woman, Superman, Deadpool or just about any other geek character, they have it and you can buy it. Heck, I would like to collect more, just because I love the style. So we have to give this device a hearty thumbs up.
This Christmas decoration beats them all. Colby Powell and his family have no use for inflatable Santas or glowing trees, they think much bigger. They built a light-up Millennium Falcon and stuck it on the roof of their house! The ship measures almost 29 feet long. She may not look like much, but she’s got Christmas spirit where it counts. You can check out the build details at Make magazine. They needed a crane to lift the 700-pound holiday decoration onto the roof.
It’s snowing on Dagobah. It’s a Christmas miracle! And you can watch this soothing scene in the Star Wars Yoda Snow Globe. It’s a relaxing scene that will look amazing on your desk or mantle. You will feel the presence of the diminutive Jedi master and the force will be with you.
These are the waffles that fueled the pilots who finished the Kessel run in record time. She may not look like much, but she’s got the waffles where it counts. The Star Wars Millennium Falcon Waffle Maker makes perfect Millennium Falcon waffles every time. I’ve made a few modifications myself, like butter and syrup for instance. Take flight every morning!
What does Darth Vader do after hours? Obviously he grabs a few Stormtroopers and heads to the disco where they dance under a Death Star Disco Ball. This is why Vader is the man! “That’s no moon! Whatever, let’s get down with our bad selves!” This object of awesomeness belongs on every dance floor. It measures 16 inches in diameter.
This amazing LEGO BB-8 is the perfect addition to your Star Wars collection and it makes a great gift. This LEGO model consists of 1106 Lego bricks and measures over 9″ X 5″ wide. It looks like an awesome build of the roly-poly droid. It features authentic detailing, and a wheel-activated rotating head as well as an opening hatch with a non-functioning welding torch.
Etsy seller Scicollectables sells all kinds of Geek Light Switch Covers and outlet cover plates that look really cool. They have a great aged copper look with a neat patina paint effect. A few of our favorites are below, but they have many more. You can choose from designs like Batman, Superman, Star Wars, Harry Potter and more. These just look amazing. They will spruce up any light switch or outlet in your home.
