Star Wars Gaming Tribute Art

Star Wars Gaming Tribute Art
I’m loving this colorful Star Wars Gaming Tribute Art. And since Star Wars fever is everywhere right now, this is a good time to share it. Artist Rob Duenas has outdone himself with this piece. There is so much to see in this amazing artwork, I’m still not sure I have noticed all of the details.

All of the cool Star Wars games are here. Star Wars arcade games, the old Atari 2600 games, the computer games from the 90s. There is just so much here. I like all of the little touches like the Han Solo in Carbonite keychain hanging next to a mini Lando on Leia’s Boba Fett backpack. It’s so colorful and playful. Leia knows how to game with the best of them.

The Daily Lives Of Superheroes And Villains

The Daily Lives Of Superheroes And Villains
We can never get enough of seeing fictional characters doing everyday things just like us mere mortals. I think it makes us feel more heroic somehow and by seeing superheroes and pop culture characters doing things like laundry and using public restrooms, it kind of brings them down closer to our level.

This series of amazing photographs comes from Canada-based photographer Daniel Picard. It shows superheroes, supervillains and other pop-culture characters doing all of the stuff that we do. He uses action figures, but you would swear that some of those characters are real people dressed in a costume. You can check out his Figure Fantasy book for many more.

The Lost Family Portraits Of Sci-Fi Icons

The Lost Family Portraits Of Sci-Fi Icons
Berlin, Germany based artist Sanja Zakovska created this fun series called The Lost Family Portraits. It depicts some of our favorite Sci-Fi icons in antique style portraits. The best one is the Alien/Predator family portrait with Predator dad, Alien mom and Facehugger child.

This is a clever and fun series that puts some familiar faces into our past and lets us view them as if in a scrapbook.

Boba Fett / Wonder Woman Cosplay

Boba Fett Wonder Woman Cosplay
You’ve never seen Wonder Woman like this. Or Boba Fett for that matter. Cosplayer Alkali Layke made this awesome costume that combines two of our favorites, Wonder Woman and Boba Fett. Do we call her Wonder Fett? Boba Woman? I have no idea, but that costume looks amazing. She prefers her Lasso of Truth to a blaster. Layke thinks this is her best work ever and we agree.

Awesome Job Alkali!

Spaceballs: The Schwartz Awakens Poster Art

Spaceballs The Schwartz Awakens Poster Art
Artist Joshua Budich created this series of Spaceballs poster art. It parodies Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Naturally it makes me want another Spaceballs movie, like now. Spaceballs: The Schwartz Awakens would be the perfect title for it as well. These posters are pretty perfect. I love the colors and the scenes that Joshua chose to highlight. These images really hit you.

I hope Mel Brooks does make a new Spaceballs movie. He did recently say that he was working on a sequel, but apparently the working title is Spaceballs: The Search For More Money. Maybe he will rethink that now.

Star Wars R2-D2 Measuring Cup Set

r2d2 measuring cups
R2 units help with all kinds of things. They help you pilot X-Wings, they play holograms, smuggle Death Star plans and now they can help in the kitchen. This Star Wars R2-D2 Measuring Cup Set is exactly the kind of thing that can get me in the kitchen and get me baking some Star Wars cookies.

R2-D2’s body is built from 4 measuring cups: 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, and 1 cup. As an added bonus, the detachable utility arms turn into nested measuring spoons: 1/4, 1/2, 1 tsp, and 1/3 tbsp. The dome is both 1/2 cup and 1 tbsp.

Needle Felted Star Wars Ships

Needle Felted Star Wars Ships
sheepcreekstudio makes these cool Needle Felted Star Wars Ships. These ornaments are the softer side of Star Wars. They are perfect for your kid’s rooms or for displaying just about anywhere. You can buy these ships individually or as a whole mobile set.

Because it is never too early to get your child into the magic of Star Wars. These ships are adorable and when they are all displayed together, they look even cooler. I hope they make more ships to add to this little fleet.
