Álvaro Ortiz López, from Jalisco, México, is one of the Huichol. One of their traditions is their beaded art which can take many forms, like jaguar heads and other folklore themes. This art is also applied to various helmets and masks. In this case he used the force and combined this tradition with Star Wars, to create this Darth Vader and Stormtrooper mask.
It’s not everyday that you see a Batman mask mashed up with Star Wars. This helmet design is pretty unique. It was created by Julian Checkley and it combines Batman’s cowl with a Scout Trooper helmet. It makes for a great futuristic Batman look, that’s for sure. It was created as part of the Biker Scout Helmet project, where artists make interesting and new custom helmets based on Scout Trooper helmets. I love this one.It is perfect for Batman.

Artist and graphic novelist Martin Panchaud has created a 157-page illustrated infographic that details the ships, scenes, and lines from Star Wars: A New Hope in detail. It is big! He created it in 2016, and it measures 400 feet long. It is a huge and simple representation of the film that started it all.

This is a cool piece of Star wars history that most of us have never seen before. This teaser was recently acquired by the Academy Film Archive. It may in fact be the very first teaser trailer for George Lucas’ third film in the saga, Return of The Jedi. Of course back then it started off titled Revenge of The Jedi. Then Lucas changed his mind as he is apt to do.
The Academy says that this brief teaser was only attached to a brief theatrical run of a double feature of the first two Star Wars movies in the U.K. It debuted so early that it still has “Revenge” as part of the title, and it promised a Christmas 1983 release. The movie actually came out much earlier. This is a great piece of cinema history. They obviously cobbled it together very quickly. Most of it is simply stills from the film. It is great to see what those people in that UK theater would have seen. Can you imagine how excited they must have been for this film?

If you were ever curious about what Stormtroopers do on their off time, Atlanta photographer and whisky connoisseur Brett of the Scotch Trooper Instagram page has some ideas. They are whisky elves. In this series of photographs, he brings Star Wars and whisky together and it really is a great combination. Before giving short reviews of a whisky, Brett sometimes captures photos of stormtroopers or other characters posing with the bottle of whisky and helping with the whole process. This is a fun series that shows these Imperial minions in a whole new light.

Yoda is a very powerful Jedi master. Have you ever thought about what it would be like if he turned to the dark side? I know that I’ve contemplated this, but I could never have imagined such an evil creature as this. I don’t even want to think about what Yoda as a Sith Lord would do.
