Star Trek Discovery - Main Title Sequence
Star Trek Discovery premieres tonight on CBS All Access, but you can see the main title sequence right now. It’s different from any other Star Trek title sequence, I’ll give them that. Some are arguing that it feels bland and uninspired. I really can’t argue with that. It seems a bit disorienting to me, as if this title sequence is unsure of what the show is about. It seems to focus on the technology rather than the journey and reminds me of an Apple product pitch. They also tried really hard to mimic Enterprise’s main title vibe. What do you think?

New Trailer For Star Trek Discovery
CBS has released a new featurette for Star Trek: Discovery that features composer Jeff Russo and the score that he created for the opening title sequence of the series. I have to admit it sounds pretty good, even though some parts sound like music from Westworld. Check out the video where Russo is working with a 60-piece orchestra and we get to hear the score. Here is the Comic-Con trailer for Star Trek: Discovery. It is definitely the most intense trailer for the series yet, but that doesn’t mean that fan reaction isn’t mixed. The show takes place about 10 years before the original crew and there is a conflict between Starfleet and Klingons. There is a lot of action here and again, we don’t get a look at the main ship, which is very concerning.

The official Star Trek: Discovery Twitter page has shared a close up look at the phasers that will be featured in Star Trek: Discovery. The new phasers are very reminiscent of the one’s from “The Cage”, with a more modern look.

Set 10 years prior to the five-year mission of the Enterprise in Star Trek: The Original Series, Star Trek: Discovery follows the adventures of Starfleet on their missions to discover new worlds and new lifeforms, and one Starfleet officer who must learn that to truly understand all things alien, you must first understand yourself. The series will feature a new ship, new characters, and new missions while embracing the same ideology and hope for the future that inspired a generation of dreamers and doers.

Star Trek: Discovery will premiere on September 24.
