Scenes From Star Wars Created From A Single Sheet Of Paper

It never ceases to amaze me what people can do with paper of all things. Check out these amazingly detailed, 3D Star Wars scenes. They are actually made from just a single sheet of paper, by artist Paper Dandy a.k.a. Marc Hagan-Guirey. They just boggle my mind.

Marc cuts the shapes, then bends and folds the paper using an ancient art called kirigami. It’s like origami but with cutting designs. Have you ever seen such detailed paper art in your entire life? Marc is not only talented, but also very prolific as you can see from the images below. These are just some of his creations.

The Mad Max movies are among my all time favorites. It’s going to be hard for George Miller to top himself, but from everything I’ve seen so far, it looks like he just might. This B-roll video showed up online and it features 18 glorious minutes of behind-the-scenes footage of George Miller directing some of the action scenes of Mad Max: Fury Road.

This movie looks amazing and as usual, that’s largely due to the mostly practical stunts they did in the Namibian desert. Practical is always best. It’s really amazing to see these stunts performed on the set. This is dangerous work and these stuntmen do an excellent job.

This Terminator Genisys Endoskeleton Skull 1:1 Scale Prop Replica is 100% unique to the newest movie Terminator Genisys. It has a completely new sculpture and design by Legacy Effects. This new Endoskeleton was designed digitally as well, with each part printed for laser accuracy and proportion. It is going to look stunning on your desk for sure.

It was produced from the original molds to be as accurate as is possible and set on a museum quality base with lighted eyes. And you just know that those eyes will haunt you. Just like the practical effects Endoskeletons used in the film, these replicas are chrome painted with amazing detail. It measures about 15-inches tall x 8.5-inches wide x 10-inches long. The price is a very reasonable $600.

Custom Built Light Up Battlestar Galactica

This Custom Built Light Up Battlestar Galactica is frakkin’ awesome. It was created by OtherWorldModels and is a custom built and painted new-series Moebius Models Battlestar Galactica model kit. However, he put in some amazing upgrades.

Like full hull plating decals, detailed and lit hanger bays, other photo-etched detail pieces, and upgraded guns. Because Galactica needs her guns. I love how those engines glow. You would be proud to have this ship on your desk.

Bad Wookie Felt Star Wars Mascot

J.J. Abrams’ Bad Robot mascot really stands out from the crowd. It’s unique, hip and fairly adorable. You’ve seen it on his movies and TV shows.

However, Bad Robot has nothing on Bad Wookie. This adorable walking carpet was made by Etsy seller elenicreative and he stands a foot tall. He is completely hand stitched and made of felt. And completely awesome. He’s been known to pull a droid’s arms out of their sockets, but you should be safe. He’ll cost you $850. and is totally worth it.

Stop-Motion Recreation of Baby Groot’s Dance

Guardians of the Galaxy is a classic in every sense of the word as far as I’m concerned. James Gunn’s movie is just plain fun and one of the funnest scenes was at the very end when Baby Groot dances to The Jackson 5’s “I Want You Back.”

Now we can relive the dance in stop-motion form. This video took more than 1,000 photos to create. The creators used a Hot Toys 1/4 scale Groot and Marvel Legends 6″ Drax. This should put a smile on your face. Check it out below.

Antique Plates Get A Star Wars Makeover

Etsy seller BeatUpCreations takes old antique and beat up plates and transforms them into beautiful works of art. Many have a modern theme. In their shop you can find everything from Pee-Wee Herman to Mr. T, to David Bowie on antique plates. My favorites are the Star Wars pieces that they’ve created.

Most of them are classic paintings with a Star Wars twist. They are an amazing mix of old and new. Just the right kind of geeky to hang on your home or office wall. The C-3PO plate just makes me laugh, but I want them all.

If you enjoyed Neill Blomkamp’s Chappie, you are going to love reading Chappie: The Art of the Movie. This book is full of interesting facts about the movie and it has tons of awesome images. Check out the video below to get a preview.

This large oversized hardcover artbook is written by Peter E. Aperlo, and published by Titan Books. It has 160 pages that will keep fans engrossed. It has everything from behind-the-scenes photographs, film stills, concept art and entertaining production stories. This is a must have for fans of Blomkamp’s movies.

Amazing Animatronic Of Yul Brynner As The Gunslinger From Westworld

Fans of Michael Crichton‘s 1973 science fiction western-thriller WestWorld are going to love this. It is a very life-like silicone robotic version of Yul Brynner as the Gunslinger from the film. It is so real it is terrifying. This crazy robot was made by sculptor Nick Marra of Nick Marra Studios.

Check out the video below for more detail about how it was created. When they make a new movie, this is a great way to include Yul Brynner, even if it is just for a short cameo. This thing is unreal!

Swedish Predator House

This house in Sweden looks normal on the outside, but it has a terrible alien secret within it’s walls. It is an amazing Predator themed home on the inside, with life sized Predators, Predator accents and even an amazing Predator themed home theater.

Now that is how you decorate a home. Um, assuming you have a very understanding wife anyway.
