Boba Fett: The Twelve Parsec Stare

Star Wars was influenced by classic westerns as well as other genres, and if there is one character that we would want to see in a serious Western style story, it is Boba Fett. In fact, every time I watch Sergio leone’s spaghetti westerns I see Lee Van Cleef as the embodiment of Boba Fett. Lucas must have been inspired by Lee Van Cleef in some capacity.

Anyway, Boba Fett meets Spaghetti westerns. Enjoy. Wouldn’t it be amazing to get a real Boba Fett Western? I can only hope.

Amazing Heath Ledger Joker Cosplay

Amazing Heath Ledger Joker Cosplay
As far as Heath Ledger Joker cosplay goes, this has got to be the best of the best. You’ll swear that you are looking at Ledger playing the villain once again. It is just amazing and uncanny.

The Joker, in this case, is actually Jesse Oliva. The photography was done by York in a Box. They obviously make a great team. This is really crazy. If only we could have seen more of Ledger’s Joker.

This Presentation Reel Shows What John Carter Could Have Been

One thing we should all take away from Disney’s recent attempt at John Carter is that it is really hard to make the Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Barsoom novels on film. In 2012, Andrew Stanton’s adaptation bombed at the box office. Now, a Presentation Reel of another adaptation has surfaced, and we get to see what might have been.

This reel was put together by director Kerry Conran and it shows off some amazing visuals from concept art that was created for the adaptation. There is also some action and fight scenes. There are many similarities, but it has more of a pulp feel for sure. It sure looks like a better and more sweeping adaptation. Sadly, we will likely never see it fully realized on screen, which is a real shame.

Terminator: Genisys Concept Art

Terminator Genisys Concept Art
We know a fair bit about Terminator: Genisys’ plot already. The movie releases in just a few days. It looks like John Connor sends Kyle Reese back in time to save his mother Sarah from the Terminators before he is born. But this time around, when Kyle arrives in 1984, Sarah is already waiting for him. And she has brought her own Terminator.

I bet he didn’t expect that. Those scenes have been shown in all of the trailers, but the trailers haven’t shown us much about the future in this movie. This concept art from the upcoming book Terminator Genisys: Resetting the Future by David S. Cohen helps to shed some light on the darker grittier future in this movie. Not to mention all of the other concept art that we can’t see yet.

Boba Fett Costume Test Images From 1979

Boba Fett Costume Test Images From 1979
Several vintage Star Wars shots have surfaced that show off one of the the original costume tests for Boba Fett from around 1979. These behind the scenes images from The Empire Strikes Back show the evolution of the costume. It’s interesting to note all of the minor details that were changed.

This is from very early in the costume’s evolution. Yes, technically it made its public debut at the 1978 San Anselmo Country Fair parade and the Star Wars Holiday Special, but this is a nice look at it from around that time, where we get to see it close up. Both as a whole and some shots of the gear pieces by themselves.

Spaghetti Western Star Wars Art Prints

star wars spaghetti western posters
I love Sergio Leone’s Spaghetti Westerns. There has never been a movie maker like him since and no one has quite been able to capture westerns in the same way. The man was a genius. Imagine if the Star Wars trilogy had been made by Sergio Leone. This is what the movie posters would look like.

You can buy them from timanderson310’s Etsy shop. You’ll find many other amazing Sci-Fi posters there as well. Most of them with a retro flair.

Mad Max: Fury Road Concept Art

We can’t get enough Mad Max right now. We may have a long wait until the next movie, so in the meantime, check out this collection of amazing concept art created for the movie by artist Peter Pound. When you aren’t going back and watching all of the movies anyway.

You can see right away that this art is from early on in the process. A lot changed by the time the movie was released. It’s fascinating to see what they were thinking so early on. Some of the stuff is frastically different, while other things were only altered slightly. You can check out more on his site.

Documentary On The Making Of Batman Begins

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Ghp2h1mak8o

Can you believe it has been ten years since Christopher Nolan’s Batman Begins was released. Nolan really took comic book films to a darker, grittier level that influenced everything that came after. Batman could be taken seriously once again. Superhero movies would never be the same.

This feature length documentary on the making of the movie was released online last year. It is an entertaining look at the movie that has tons of great stuff. Batman fans will learn about the movie’s production and it’s development on the way to the big screen. I personally love this stuff. You are bound to at least learn a few things you didn’t know about Batman Begins.

Prometheus And Alien Edited Together

https://vimeo.com/129318944
I know that a lot of people think that Prometheus was a sub-par movie, whether it is a prequel to Alien or not. I found it to be a worthy prequel to the classic, but different strokes and all that. For those of you who didn’t like the movie, maybe you’ll like it better with both movies edited together.

Editor Job Willins edited both movies together to highlight the good things in Prometheus and give it some closer ties to Alien. The film uses a parallel narrative, set 30 years apart and is titled Derelict. It really does a great job of setting an even scarier atmosphere in black and white. I’m not sure how I feel about it, but it’s a brilliant idea and very creepy.
