Full Sized LEGO DC Superheros

Last month, artist Nathan Sawaya’s full-sized Batmobile made entirely of LEGO bricks was the centerpiece for an art exhibit at the Powerhouse Museum in Sydney, Australia called The Art of the Brick: DC Comics, and now we can show you more cool stuff that Sawaya created for the event. He made 120 original art pieces and below are just some highlights. They are all great, but I really love his version of The Flash.

It is amazing what you can do with LEGO. It’s one thing to build a little LEGO house and another to build full sized statues.

LEGO Mosaics

LEGO can create all kinds of amazing things. Buildings, statues, you name it and LEGO has been a part of it. You can even create portraits with LEGO. Like these awesome LEGO Mosaics from Oxfordbrickart. Using LEGO bricks as pixels to create art looks really amazing. You can actually buy these to hang in your home.

The seller has Stormtroopers, Daleks from Doctor Who, Batman and many more geek characters. These mosaics look amazing. I would love to hang these all over my house.

A Day In The Life Of A Stormtrooper Father And His Son

Brazillian photographer Maurice Xavier is responsible for this photo essay that shows a Stormtroper Father and his Stormtrooper son having fun together and doing stuff that fathers and sons do. Whether you are a dad on Earth or a dad serving with the Empire, being a good dad is about all of the same stuff.

I always knew that those LEGO minifigs were the offspring of actual Stormtroopers.

Custom LEGO TARS Robot From Interstellar

The TARS robot from Interstellar was one of the highlights of the film for me. I just like cool robots. We featured a cool cosplay of TARS awhile back. Now check out this custom LEGO version of the robot.

It is made from 120 LEGO pieces and is fully pose-able in many positions. This would look great on the shelf. Looks like all of the details are just right.

Classic Comic Book Covers Recreated In LEGO

LEGO is a versatile and colorful way to recreate or just plain create anything. So it is no wonder that David Whalen decided to use LEGO bricks to recreate iconic comic book covers. LEGO and comics are two of our favorite things around here, so you know we love this.

David does an amazing job creating these covers from DC Comics and Marvel. All of our favorites are here like Batman, Superman, The Joker, X-Men, Spider-man and more.

Time Lapse Creation Of Life-Sized LEGO Groot And Rocket

You might remember that last year there was a life-sized Groot and Rocket Raccoon from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy that was built entirely out of LEGOs. The thing stood over 7 feet tall and was seen at San Diego Comic Con. Truly a life sized giant tree and raccoon.

Well, the creators, Bright Bricks, recently released a time-lapse video of the creation so we can all see how it was done. These characters took over 30,000 LEGO pieces to make and who know how many hours.

Lego Minifig Scale Model Of The Millennium Falcon Has Some Insane Detail

This huge 3’7 by 3′ Millennium Falcon is made out of at least 10,000 pieces of Lego. The amount of detail here is just out of this world. It seems like they got every last bit of the Falcon just right. Han would be proud.

It was created by Titan Creations, a Singapore-based team of builders. Every nook and cranny of the Falcon’s interior is here. This build is just crazy. You can see Chewie and Han in the cockpit. Leia, R2-D2, C-3PO, Luke and Ben Kenobi are all here too.

LEGO Minifig Tattoos

I don’t know about you, but I’m not manly enough to get a tattoo. However, if I ever man up and get one, it would probably be something awesome like the tattoos below. These excellent tattoos of LEGO Minifigs were made by Polish artist Max Pniewski from Bristol, England.

The artist obviously loves to ink LEGO Minifigs and he does an excellent job. Everything from Breaking Bad to Star Wars and superheroes. I love the quality of his work. Maybe it’s time I just walk in and get a tattoo. Nah. I’ll just admire these.
