If Movie Characters Had Poor Eyesight – Part I

If Movie Characters Had Poor Eyesight – Part I
I guess the message is that we should not take our sight for granted. This is the first part of a series of comics by Visian ICL and illustrator Wren McDonald. I’m really glad that Luke had great sight. Then again, he did have the force.

It can be easy to take sight for granted – despite the science of sight being extraordinarily remarkable. In movies, for example, heroes and villains are usually blessed with extremely keen eyesight. This got us thinking: just what would it be like if move characters had poor eyesight, and how would this affect the famous scenes we’ve come to know and love?

Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom Sankara Stones Replicas

sankara stones
According to legend, five stones were given to Sankara by the Hindu god Shiva on Mount Kalisa, along with the message that he should battle evil with them…Indy certainly battled evil in that movie. Now you can own the three stones from the temple and have them in your own home. These Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom Sankara Stones Replicas look awesome. Any true Indy fan would love to have these displayed over their fireplace. Or anywhere for that matter.

Stylized Illustrations Of Movie Character Outfits
Check out this interesting series of stylized illustrations of some popular outfits worn by movie characters. It features some of our favorites like Harry Potter, The Hunger Games, Star wars, The Terminator, and more. He has more on his behance page.

Fred Birchal has studied these outfits and stylized them so that you can admire them without a wearer. This is a fun look at some of the costumeswe know and love. It’s interesting to put the spotlight on these threads. It really shows how simple they are, yet we immediately recognize them.

Charlie Brown As Indiana Jones Art Prints

Charlie Brown As Indiana Jones Art Prints
Artist Chris Thornley created these retro art prints based on Charlie Brown as Indiana Jones. You’ll notice that there is one print for each movie in the original trilogy. Nothing for Kingdom of the Crystal Skull. And I’m okay with that.

Good grief these are cool! I’ve never been a big fan of the Peanuts gang, but mashups like this get my attention. I might read some Peanuts comic strips if they feature more of my heroes like Indiana Jones. These are part of New York City’s Bottleneck Gallery’s NYCC collection, and if you like them you can purchase them here.

Concept Art For Disney’s Indiana Jones Themed Restaurant

concept art for disneys indiana jones restaurant

If you’re an Indiana Jones fan you might want to visit Orlando, Florida soon. Disney has announced a new Indy-themed restaurant coming to Walt Disney World. They’ve released two new pieces of concept art for the project. According to the press release, the restaurant will be called “Jock Lindsey’s Hangar Bar,” named after the snake-loving pilot from the beginning of Raiders.

It looks like it will be a fun restaurant judging by this concept art. The main room will have an expansive bar, with aviation decor, vintage travel posters and correspondence between Jock, Indy and others.

The Story Behind Indiana Jones And The Temple Of Doom’s Bridge Scene

We’ve all heard plenty of behind the scenes stories about Raiders of the Lost Ark, but you don’t hear many stories about Temple of Doom. I’m not sure why that is, but it’s true. They just never seem to talk about it. Anyway, here is one from Academy Originals. It’s a web series from the organization behind the Oscars that “examines everything from the creative process, to the moments that changed the course of filmmaking, to the artists who are charting its future.” I love that they tell the story using animation.

Special Effects Supervisor George Gibbs tells a story about the bridge sequence in the film. Indiana Jones fans will be interested in this one. But aren’t we all Indy fans?
