2001 HAL 9000 50th Anniversary Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament

2001 HAL 9000 50th Anniversary Hallmark Keepsake Christmas Ornament
Right on time for the 50th anniversary of 2001: A Space Odyssey, this HAL 9000 ornament will please geeks and fans of the movie alike (so pretty much everyone) as it hangs from your tree and overlooks your Christmas festivities. You shouldn’t talk trash in front of HAL, even quietly. He can read lips and has no problem disposing of humans to achieve his own brand of Christmas joy. He lights up if you press the button on the ornament and if you succeed in shutting him down, he’ll even sing “Daisy” for you. Celebrate Christmas geek-style with this collectible HAL ornament!

This HAL 9000 Replica Uses Amazon Alexa
Clear a space on your wall for this replica of HAL 9000 that includes a real AI. Master Replicas Group has not given us a price yet for its new 2001 Interactive HAL Computer prop replica, but I want one. This replica will have working displays, functional voice recognition, and Amazon Alexa integration so it can control things in your home. We all saw how that turned out in the movie, so hopefully, things will go better in your home. I can’t wait to learn more about this replica, but the price is likely out of my range.

HAL-9000 and Samantha Have a Creepy Conversation

HAL-9000 and Samantha Have a Creepy Conversation
So what happens when Hal from 2001: A Space Odyssey and Samantha from Her strike up a conversation. Weird creepiness, that’s what. This video from Tilmann Ohm was created by selecting lines from both characters, and combining them into a conversation. Needless to say, it is pretty weird to hear the two computer intelligences talking. You keep waiting for them to talk about killing off humanity, but they never do thankfully.

Cool Alternative Art Poster For 2001: A Space Odyssey

2001 A Space Odyssey Poster
Check out this retro alternative art poster for Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space odyssey. It comes from Philippines based artist Dianne Aguas and I just love the design. It looks like one of the computer consoles from the movie, with some of the computer screens and an image of the monolith.

It’s easy to believe that this could be seen displayed in theaters in the 1960s. Sadly, it appears that this poster is not available to purchase, which is a good thing because I don’t have enough room for all of the cool stuff that I want.
