Incredible Ghostbusters Concept Art

The designs and cool creatures that you see in Ghostbusters had to start somewhere. We have the amazing concept art of Henry Mayo to thank, as well as Thom Enriquez, John Deveikis and others. You can check it all out in Ghostbusters: The Ultimate Visual History. We’ve mentioned the book before, but check out some of the images here.

Witness some of the drawings that led to the creation of the Stay Puft Marshmallow Man and Slimer. I’m always fascinated with how these things evolve. It’s interesting to see the creative process. I almost wish we had gotten a more evil looking Stay Puft Marshmallow Man after seeing this.

You always want to be careful when you come to a Staypuft Crossing. Stop your car and look both ways, otherwise you are going to get stepped on and run over by the Staypuft Marshmallow Man. You can tell if he’s been this way recently by how fresh the goo is on the sign.

Ghostbusters Slimer 1:1 Statue

This 1:1 Slimer replica looks so convincing you’ll want to wipe slime from your slime-soaked Ghostbusting uniform. This prop replica was cast in UV green tinted clear resin. So he is really going to shine under UV. He looks pretty good under normal light too. He weighs about 25 lbs and stands 30″ tall.

I can’t think of a better way for a Ghostbusters fan to spend $2,950.

Each Giclée print is made on natural white, matte, ultra smooth, 100% cotton rag, acid and lignin free archival paper using Epson K3 archival inks. They are also custom trimmed with a 1″ border for framing. These prints are pretty impressive, that’s for sure. It’s hard to pick a favorite.

Ghostbusters Playing Cards

What could be better than Ghostbusting. And the latest news is that we have not one, but two Ghostbusters movies to look forward to. Hopefully they live up to the originals, although I am not getting my hopes up. I spotted these Ghostbusters Playing Cards and had to share them. The illustrations are awesome.

At last we can combine Ghostbusting with poker and Black Jack.

Cracked held a photoshop contest where readers were asked to come up with Yearbook photos for fictional characters. Below is a sampling of winners and the runners-up. It’s a fun assortment that includes Back To The Future, Star Trek, Ghostbusters, Predator and many more.

The Starfleet Academy Hall of Fame has to be my favorite. Marty McFly as Calvin Klein ranks pretty high too. Thanks to all of the talented photoshoppers who brought these to life.

You have to love artist Rocky Davies‘ work. In this retro and fun series. Davies has taken some of TV, movies, and comic book’s greatest villains and given them their own 1980s album covers. They are bold and beautiful and look appropriate to the 80s.

They are all done in bright neon colors and classic ’80s style and each has an appropriate song to go with them. These are perfect. And now you can get prints at his Ageofnerd shop for just $20. I know what my next purchase is.
