The Mortal Engines trailer was released recently to drum up excitement for the film’s release in December of this year. Mortal Engines has an intriguing plot and interesting cast. The film is action-oriented, judging by the trailer, but it appears that we are going to get significant elements of adventure and fantasy as well. This isn’t surprising, given that it is being produced by many of the same names as The Lord of the Rings and The Hobbit. The film stars Hera Hilmar as Hester Shaw, a young woman who is attempting to stop a giant, robotic city from destroying everything in its path. Complicated by this subplot, she appears to battle Hugo Weaving as Thaddeus Valentine for the fate of many lives. There is significant buzz around this film, and it should be a real thrill ride.

Artist Juan David Muñoz Rico shares his fantasy interpretation of The Dark Knight and the Joker in this cool art series. I’m hoping that he adds more characters, because I would love to see what Harley Quinn, Two-Face, The Penguin and others would look like in his fantasy world.
I just spent way too much time scrolling through everything that JeremyEnnisStudio has in his etsy store and wow, this guy is super talented. A few of the cool pieces of art that caught my eye were these Snow White and Sleeping Beauty Vs Facehuggers pieces. They are only 4×5 inches, but they are fun Disney/Alien mashups. They come mounted and wrapped and would be really cool displayed somewhere in the home.

These dark and magnificent pieces of art are from Studio Ronin. Both the original trilogy and The Force Awakens are represented here. These images turn Star Wars into a dark and brooding fantasy. The dark side is strong with these. They remind me of a lot of the art that was on fantasy books way back when.

The X-Men are mutants. So are most Adventure Time characters. So you can see how they would have a lot in common. This series of X-Men/Adventure Time character mashups was created by talented illustrator and graphic artist Katie Goodrich. I think Katie did a good job pairing them up based on their powers and other traits. Ice King is definitely magneto and Flame Princess is totally Jean grey. I really love Jake as Wolverine too. This series is mathematical!
Colombia based artist Lina Ruiz created this colorful and fun Vector Illustrations based on Science Fiction and Fantasy properties. If superheroes were dragons is a beautiful set of illustrations by Lynton Levengood. This art series takes the already strong superheroes and transforms them into dragons who still look like Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man and others. These terrifying flying creatures are instantly recognizable, yet so very different at the same time in their evolved form. This could be an interesting beginning to a much larger fantasy world of Levengood’s making.
