Female Robocop Cosplay: Part Woman. Part Machine. All Cop.

This fantastic photo shoot shows cosplayer Payton Schmall as a female RoboCop and it is stunning. I have to say, it’s the perfectly pouty lipstick that really sells it. Don’t get me wrong, the costume is right on too and awesome. She channels the very soul of Detroit’s last hope. Which is not easy to do with a helmet covering most of your face.

The photo shoot was done by Ken Pearson Photography. Awesome job all around.

What’s Inside Batman’s Utility Belt?

We all know about Batman’s utility belt. Basically it has everything that a Batman needs to get out of any situation. It’s a lot like Doctor Who’s Sonic Screwdriver. But what exactly has the Dark Knight carried in his belt over the years? Artist Kevin Tong clues us in with this cool infographic.

It is by no means complete, but it’s a fun look at what some of the Movie and TV versions of Batman have kept in the utility belt. If you have room for shark repellent you can carry just about anything else you need.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Art Show

If you want to see some amazing Star Wars art firsthand, the Ltd. Art Gallery just kicked off their fourth annual art show dedicated to Star Wars. Nothing but Star Wars. All the time. Here some amazing artists will be displaying art that is inspired by a Galaxy far, far away.

Star Wars Episode 4: A New Art Show is at the Ltd. Art Gallery through January 2015 in Seattle. It began on December 11th. The show has licensed art from the Acme archives and you can also see new original art for the first time. Below are some of the pieces that will be shown. This is not to be missed so don’t run into any Imperial entanglements.

Parks and Recreation/Star Trek Mashup Art

Neill Cameron‘s “Parks and Trek” series reimagines the crew from Pawnee as the crew of the Enterprise. The Next Generation specifically. Commander Ron Swanson as Riker is perfect.

We also have Captain Leslie Knope, Engineering Chief Tom Haverford, and Chief Medical Officer Ann Perkins. Ron Swanson would hate living in Star Trek’s big government world though. In fact, the more I think about it, it would be a pretty funny show.

The Art Of The Adventures Of Lando Calrissian

I’m a sucker for vintage Sci-Fi novel cover art. They just don’t paint them like these anymore. You might remember Brian Daley’s trilogy of Han Solo novels in 1979-80. Well, this trilogy came next in 1981, featuring Lando Calrissian. The titles are almost as awesome as the art by Williams Schmidt.

The books were Lando Calrissian and the Mindharp of Sharu, Lando Calrissian and the Flamewind of Oseon and Lando Calrissian and the Starcave of ThonBoka. The action all takes place long before the events of the original Star Wars films. I just love that artwork. Just the right amount of retro and it convinces you right away that Lando would have made a great leading man in his own movies. I see him as a space-faring James Bond.

I love that you can still buy these books today in a 3 for 1 deal on Amazon. But the new cover has no soul.

Vespa: Superhero Editions

A world where superheroes evolved to ride around on Vespas? You’re looking at it. These fun illustrations by Istanbul, Turkey based artist Mete Eraydın May even convince you that this is the only mode of transport for comic book heroes.

These colorful rides look pretty sweet. Let’s hope that the villains are sticking to Vespas as well, otherwise our heroes are going to have a hard time catching up.

2001: A Space Odyssey Trailer With Rare Test Footage

A rare trailer for Stanley Kubrick’s 2001: A Space Odyssey has surfaced online. The trailer was released about a year before the film opened in 1968. That’s why it has a bunch of concept art and test footage. None of the finished scenes were ready at the time. As you can see that didn’t stop them from promoting the movie so they could get people excited about it.

Kid Vader Has All The Cool Toys

When we think about Darth Vader, we usually picture him doing something sinister. Like Force Choking someone or blowing up a planet. That’s why it’s so striking and fun to see images like this. This put a smile on my face. This CGI photography is titled Kid Vader. It was a personal project from London based photographer Parker Biley.

Here we see Darth Vader as a young kid, playing with all of his toys. Not sure if he is putting that LEGO Yoda together with the Force, or tearing it down, but I love it.

Adventure Time: The Women Of Ooo Are Sad

The land of Ooo is home to all kinds of amazing things. It has creatures that can kill you, creatures that are cute, stuff that will just give you poo brain and of course, all of the lovely Princesses. The ladies of Ooo are pretty special. Just ask the Ice King.

Well, Behance artist Haffi Chan has some awesome illustrations featuring some of Adventure Times leading ladies. These illustrations show Princess Bubblegum, Marceline, Lady Rainicorn and the Flame Princess in a new light. They are absolutely stunning. Lady Rainicorn is the best. Not sure why they are all so sad though.
