Reimagined Star Trek Movie Posters

I love the style of these reimagined Star Trek movie posters. They are the creation of illustrator Matt Ferguson. Matt reimagined the movie posters for all of the original movies and the latest reboot movie Star Trek Into Darkness.

They have a great retro vibe and some nice choice of colors. Each captures the spirit of the movie it goes with. I really applaud his choice of using the campfire scene for Star Trek V. Nice touch.

Organic Boba Fett Is The Stuff Of Nightmares

Bedford, Nova Scotia, Canada based artist, Brock Hofer “doesn’t usually get to draw Star Wars characters”, but when he got a commission to make an organic Boba Fett, this was the result. Insane! I thought Boba Fett was a hardcore bounty hunter before. Now there will be no stopping him.

He is absolutely terrifying! And awesome. Now there is no doubt as to who the baddest and most dangerous bounty hunter in the galaxy is. I blame the Sarlacc pit. Clearly it mutated him.

Concept Art For Angel In X-Men: Apocalypse

Ben Hardy has officially been cast as Angel in X-Men: Apocalypse. We also have some new concept art of the character. These two pieces of concept art show the back of the character with wings and without wings.

What do you think? I think they look pretty neat. Deadly, yet graceful. Needs more purple though. I think we can expect some good things from this character.

Doctor Who Art Drawn On Starbucks Coffee Sleeves

Check out this set of Doctor Who fan art drawn on Starbucks coffee cup sleeves. These fun drawings were created by artist Kahahuna and each features one of the 12 Doctors. Not the War Doctor though. He’s always getting left out. These drawings are fun. The BBC should totally team up with Starbucks to offer these for real

The sleeves are being sold in sets of 4 at the artist’s Etsy shop. Coffee just tastes better with a cool image of the Doctor.

Star Trek Spock Wooden Table

We all felt like we got a punch in the gut when we heard about Leonard Nimoy’s death. Well, Andrea Nyilas decided to honor the late actor by making this wooden table. Nyilas is very skilled in marquetry, which is the art of using wood inlay in surfaces to create images and patterns. That’s what we have here.

For his Spock piece Nyilas used walnut, maple, ash, chestnut, and root. You can check out the process here. This piece is masterfully done. You can see the love that was put into it. This is amazing work. I love the depth that is created in this process.

Irathient Defiance Cosplay

I wasn’t very sure about Defiance at first, but it’s actually a decent Sci-Fi show despite coming from Sy-Fy. So when I saw this awesome Irathient cosplay it made me smile. Alice The Insane looks pretty stunning, not to mention dangerous as an Irathient. She looks like she is a cast member of the show.

She’s so good it’s scary. The photography is by Nick Doulgeris. If the series ever needs an extra alien, they should call her for sure and give her a speaking part.

Adorable Clay Doctor Who Figures

These clay Doctor Who figures from Etsy seller eattoast are fairly adorable and they offer all of your favorite characters, mostly villains, from the classic series straight up through new Who. The little boy in the gas mask is even here. “Are you my mummy?”

They stand about 4″ tall and I can only imagine how awesome they would look in a group on your desk or shelf. They are about $20-30 and well worth it for such unique little figures. We picked some of our favorites below.

Celebration Anaheim: Vader Case Project

At Celebration IV in 2007, the original Vader Project had artists decorate and alter full sized Darth Vader helmet replicas. You’ve seen them around and probably marveled at how creative people can get with Darth Vader’s head. Artists turned Vader into a clown, the Statue of Liberty and much more. You can check them out at thevaderproject.com. It’s awesome stuff.

Well, now the Celebration Track has invited artists and collectors to decorate vintage Darth Vader action figure carrying cases. These cases will be shown throughout Celebration Anaheim in the Collector’s Track Social Room. They look amazing. I want to paint my old case now. See some of them below. For more info head here.
