Check out these fun comic book covers from artist Kerry Callen (part 1 and part 2) that imagine what it would have been like if DC Comics published Marvel characters in the 1960s. These are some weird covers, but I love them. There is an overweight Spider-Man, Captain America eating his shield, Iron Fist and Power Man, and some fun versions of Ghost Rider too. A great “What If…” art series.

Loving these kitschy Retro Superhero Illustrations by Diego Riselli. I have always admired the style and colors of this type of art from a much simpler time. They are a lot of fun. Some of our favorites are below, but you can check out his page for more.
The new era of Doctor Who has had many episodes featuring the Cybermen, but these Cybermen were not the original monsters from the classic series. Just parallel world versions. However the original 1960s Cybermen are finally coming back. The BBC has officially announced that the Mondasian Cybermen will appear in episodes 11 and 12 of Peter Capaldi’s final season of Doctor Who. Which likely means one heck of an adventure that will end with his regeneration. It’s about time they came back. They are far creepier than the current “Iron Man” Cybermen in New era Who.

This colorful artwork has flying saucers, futuristic cities, space scenes and more pulpy goodness. I wish more people did art in this style today.

Watch as Adam Savage builds the sexy and curvy space rifle from the 1960s Sci-Fi cult film Barbarella. He makes it by hand with only one image for reference. If you are in doubt that Adam is a true master in his field, just watch him work.
The end result is a sexy and sultry weapon that Jane Fonda would be proud to take into battle. It’s a long video obviously, but it is well worth watching.
