Hot Wheels recently released a set of six cars in their Pop Culture range which feature TOS characters on retro vehicles. You can find them on Amazon right now. The whole gang is here and these cars are fun collectibles with some pretty cool graphics. I think I may have to collect all of these.
Miniature LEGO Buck Rogers and Battlestar Galactica Ships! Aren’t they cute? You see LEGO, it wouldn’t take much to start producing small sci-fi themed sets that geeks like me would actually buy. These cool Star Wars 3D Blueprint Deco Lamps from GeekyGet are amazing. They are neon beacons of light to illuminate your darkened geek abode. They have the Millennium Falcon, the Death Star, Darth Vader, BB-8, an AT-AT and more. I would put one in every room if I could. These lamps bring the characters and vehicles to life in full 3D.
Star Trek fans might remember back in the early days of the original series when Leonard Nimoy celebrated the success of the show by buying a Buick Riviera. There’s a famous picture of Nimoy leaning against the car on the studio backlot. Well, this scene is now a new Hot Wheels toy created to celebrate Star Trek’s 50th anniversary.

Mattel has announced a new line of Star Trek Barbies. These are due to arrive in June and the characters are Uhura, Kirk, and Spock. Amazon has Kirk and Spock right now, but no listing for Uhura. However, you can get all 3 in a set. Uhura looks absolutely lovely and makes a perfect Barbie doll. I assume they will release more characters as well as a scale bridge set since we can see it in some of these images.
At last you can own your very own monolith from 2001: A Space Odyssey. And you don’t even need astronauts to dig it up on the moon. It is the perfect nerd desk toy. Especially if you happen to have a few small monkeys to place in front of it. It’s pretty expensive at $700. but hey, it’s not everyday that humanity discovers one of these.
I love the fact that in this day and age, you can decorate your home pretty much anyway you want. Don’t want hand towels like grandma, with flowers and fruits and stuff? Camping. The Final Frontier! Dave Delisle of Dave’s Geeky Ideas is always coming up with awesome geeky concepts that don’t exist, but should. This time he has come up with a Star Trek Shuttlecraft tent. If this thing actually existed, you could camp in the wilderness and pretend that you are stranded on a strange planet, with only your shuttlecraft for shelter. The thrusters combine to carry the whole thing.

It’s not everyday that you see a Batman mask mashed up with Star Wars. This helmet design is pretty unique. It was created by Julian Checkley and it combines Batman’s cowl with a Scout Trooper helmet. It makes for a great futuristic Batman look, that’s for sure. It was created as part of the Biker Scout Helmet project, where artists make interesting and new custom helmets based on Scout Trooper helmets. I love this one.It is perfect for Batman.
