Blade Runner 2 is one of the most highly anticipated sequels right now. We know a little bit about the film, but most of it remains a mystery. It will take place in Los Angeles and the setting is still bleak. We also know that the movie will feature strange weather. Basically, snow, rain, it’s all toxic.
Think about that as you check out this concept art from the film. I don’t know about you, but I can’t wait for this movie.
This clip from Turner Classic Movies features Dr. Zaius talking about working with Charleton Heston On Planet Of The Apes. I’m not sure when this was filmed, but Dr, Zaius has aged very well. No crows feet (Maybe I should say monkey paws) or anything. It’s a short clip, but those are some great stories about the film and Charleton Heston’s kindness.

The 1938 radio broadcast of H.G. Wells’ The War of the Worlds sent listeners everywhere into a panic. This clip is from what would have likely been an amazing epic sci-fi film. Sadly,a film that never was.
Stop-motion animation master Harryhausen brought Wells’ vision to life. A slimy Martian with bulging eyes, a slobbering beaked mouth and “Gorgon groups of tentacles”. You can check it out in this 16 mm test reel. You can see right away that this would have been another Ray Harryhausen masterpiece. Sadly the project went in another direction. Oh, if only we could have seen Ray’s vision.

For those of you who are older, you’ll remember this, but this will be new to many younger folks. This is a video of the time that Paul Williams appeared on the February 9, 1973 episode of The Tonight Show Starring Johnny Carson to sing “Here’s That Rainy Day” while wearing his full orangutan makeup from filming Battle for the Planet of the Apes. Williams played Virgil in the film. So now you get to see an ape sing.

Batman: The Animated Series is unique. It is like the keystone of the Batman franchise when you really analyze it. Kristian Williams did just that, looking at the whole of Batman, and came to the conclusion that everything led to Batman: The Animated Series. But more than that, this animated show incorporated everything that came before, and also shaped the character for everything that came after. And I totally agree. Many are speculating that we may see a remake of the Back To The Future series. I sure hope not. I’m sick of reboots and remakes that are terrible. Fingers crossed that it never happens. Rick and Morty is just the best animated show ever. Words can not describe how much I love this show. My fellow Rick and Morty fans are going to love this. Upisnotjump has created an awesome Fallout 4 movie that recreates the best scenes from the show. It will have you laughing out loud. I love how they nailed the whole “2 Brothers” sketch!

This is a cool piece of Star wars history that most of us have never seen before. This teaser was recently acquired by the Academy Film Archive. It may in fact be the very first teaser trailer for George Lucas’ third film in the saga, Return of The Jedi. Of course back then it started off titled Revenge of The Jedi. Then Lucas changed his mind as he is apt to do.
The Academy says that this brief teaser was only attached to a brief theatrical run of a double feature of the first two Star Wars movies in the U.K. It debuted so early that it still has “Revenge” as part of the title, and it promised a Christmas 1983 release. The movie actually came out much earlier. This is a great piece of cinema history. They obviously cobbled it together very quickly. Most of it is simply stills from the film. It is great to see what those people in that UK theater would have seen. Can you imagine how excited they must have been for this film?

20th Century Fox has released an awesome new trailer for Roland Emmerich’s Independence Day: Resurgence. This extended trailer is almost 5 minutes long! It has all kinds of new footage and this movie certainly looks like a fun action flick. It has been 20 years since we bested the aliens. In that time, humanity has been preparing for round 2, but so have the aliens. One thing is for sure, the Earth is going to take a beating.
