These Bizarre LEGO Mash-Ups Make Awesome Posters

Buenos Aires based Alexandre Tisser created this series of prints for a new campaign titled, Fiction meets Fiction. Many LEGO addicts have switched the heads on their minifigures, kids and adults alike, but Alexandre does it to great effect here.

Homer/Wolverine is the best. He could slice up endless doughnuts as he pops them in his mouth. Vader in a Kimono is pretty awesome too. LEGO once again proves to be a great creative tool for great minds.

Vintage Star Wars Concept Art: The Evolution Of Boba Fett

Boba Fett didn’t originally start out with that design we know and love from Empire and Jedi. The original designs show a bounty hunter that looks closer to a Stormtrooper. Boba Fett’s design evolved during the design phase and eventually became the Mandalorian we know.

You can see the evolution below. It was still cool looking, but less defined. Not as unique. It definitely lacked character and presence. I’m glad it kept evolving, because the instant I saw Fett on screen, I knew this guy was not to be messed with. THIS was a bounty hunter that inspired fear.

Ralph McQuarrie Concept Art For The Original Star Wars Trilogy

I absolutely love Ralph McQuarrie’s concept art from Star Wars and thanks to redditor Join_You_In_The_Sun I am in heaven looking at 100 images of Ralph McQuarrie’s art from the original trilogy.

Below are some of my favorites. I just can’t get enough of his vision of the Star Wars universe. Almost every single painting is epic and they really visually steered Star Wars into what it became on screen. Love these!

Doctor Seuss Meets Doctor Who

The two Doctors are together at last. Dr. Seuss and Doctor Who that is. Not the Colin Baker era serial. These fantastic illustrations of The Doctor as Dr. Seuss characters are from Melbourne, Australia-based artist DrFaustusAU. As a kid I loved both of these Doctors, so I only wish this had existed back then.

Oh! The times and the spaces these doctors have been!

Spider-Man Cuddling With Cats Is Purr-Fect

It’s just your friendly neighborhood Spider-Man cuddling up with some cats. That’s because Peter Parker makes them purr. You see? Spidey doesn’t have to be dark and brooding all of the time. He has a huge heart. He’s sensitive and cats love his spider senses. Besides how else are you going to relieve stress after a long day of crime fighting and photo taking?

These are photos were shot by Twitter user @tks1783. They show Spidey chilling at home with his cats.

Batman Vector Art

We love all of the stuff we post, but occasionally we come across something that just really blows our minds. This Batman vector art falls squarely in that category. Orlando Arocena made these Batman posters for the Poster Posse and Blurppy’s 75th Anniversary Batman Tribute. They are total eye candy and you can’t help but to be in awe of his talent.

As if these awesome posters weren’t enough, he also posted his design process. Some of which you can see below.

Unused Back To The Future 2 Concept Art

Here we are in 2015 so it is definitely a good time to take a look at the 2015 glimpsed in Back to the Future II. It could have been even weirder. Some vintage concept art from the production has surfaced and these pieces show many designs that didn’t make the cut.

Tim Flattery, a veteran concept artist who helped create this then-future world, talked with Newsweek about the experience.

They certainly came up with a lot of wacky ideas. Had they left all of this in it probably would have been overwhelming. But it is awesome to get to see this stuff.

Stunning Babylon 5 Wallpapers

This collection of Babylon 5 wallpapers features some stunning images that you will not want to miss. I think my favorite has to be Ambassador Kosh playing the game with that Shadow creature. I already missed the show terribly, but this just makes me all the more homesick for that shining beacon in the night.

10 Illustrations Of The Batmobile Through The Years

This year marks the 75th anniversary of the Batman franchise and since the Batmobile has always been a big part of the Caped Crusader’s world, it makes sense to celebrate with a look at 10 illustrated versions of Batman’s iconic vehicles by David Lo.

Batman has driven several Batmobiles through the years and each reflects the era. Here we can see some choice Batmobiles from the original red sedan from the Batman comic books in 1939 to the Batmobile from Zach Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice.
