Dr. Seuss Batman Art

This cute series by artist DrFaustusAU shows Batman characters drawn in Dr. Seuss’ classic style. And now that I’ve seen it, I want to collect all of the books and have someone read me a twisted bedtime story.

The artist nails the Dr. Seuss style perfectly, using the cast of Gotham characters. If only I had these books when I was a kid.

Beautiful 1960s Doctor Who Comic Book Art

Prepare yourself for some of the best and most beautiful Doctor Who art that you have seen in ages. This Dalek comic strip was published in the mid-1960s in Century 21 magazine. Beautiful isn’t it? Well you can see it all on Flickr. See you in a few hours!

You can find the complete The Dalek Chronicles comic on walt74’s Flickr page. Apparently they are scans from a recent magazine that collected the entire run. I just love it. This colorful artwork has flying saucers, futuristic cities, space scenes and more pulpy goodness. I wish more people did art in this style today.

Hero-Glyphics Hieroglyph Style Art

If the ancient Egyptians worshiped Comic Book characters and Sc-Fi icons the way we do, this is exactly what their tombs would look like. Illustrator Josh Ln created this series of geeky hieroglyph style art and very appropriately calls it “Hero-glyphics”.

Best of all, you don’t need to be an Indiana Jones type to decipher them. I mean it’s pretty obvious that Han shot first and that Kirk battled the Gorn. If you like what you see, you can even buy prints from his Society6 store.

Lovely Bamboo Star Trek Coasters And Cutting Board

You don’t see too many quality Star Trek items for the kitchen, but Etsy seller BlueFireEngraving offers a really cool cutting board and some coaster sets. The coaster sets feature images of the history of the USS Enterprise. They are made of bamboo and you get 6 coasters.

The cutting board also shows the history of our favorite starship. Just don’t get too absorbed in the various Enterprise ships while you are chopping vegetables. You don’t want to cut yourself.

Amazing Sci-Fi Ship Replicas Made Using Just Paper

Look at the images below. Do these model of Sci-Fi ships look like paper to you? No way. They look like professional replicas. However, every single one of them is a papercraft creation. They were made by Japanese craftsman uhu02. I am just blown away by the level of detail and the fact that they don’t even look like paper.

He has created an X-Wing, a TIE Interceptor, Viper Mk2, 2001’s Orion and many more! This man is a true artist with paper.

Star Wars: TIE Fighter Crashes On German Highway

A motorist driving in Germany spotted this Tie Fighter with debris all across the highway, while two Stormtroopers stand guard and wait to be picked up. I told all of my friends that Star Wars was real, but they didn’t believe me. Now I have proof! How did they tow that thing away?

The footage was presumably created by a fan of the show and the clip was posted on the Facebook page of the Dein Sky Fim channel. It has proved to be quiet a hit, and has already amassed an astronomic amount of views, in excess of seven million.

Super Emo Star Wars Prints

Etsy seller J. Salvador is a pop kawaii artist. He likes making characters over to be emo. In his shop you will find all kinds of cool stuff, but these Super Emo Star Wars prints are what catches the eye. These are fun and silly and cute, showing all of our favorite characters acting way too emo.

Boba Fett is sad because he was just doing his job. C-3PO asks “Is he my father too?” Poor Greedo laments the fact that his gun wasn’t even loaded. These prints may be sad, but they will make you smile.

Jupiter Ascending Concept Art

Jupiter Ascending is one of the most highly anticipated Sci-Fi movies of the moment. From what we’ve seen of it, it looks pretty amazing. Thankfully we don’t have long to wait since the film will be hitting theaters on the first weekend of February. That’s why Warner Bros. has launched a timely ‘Look Book’ for the film online, allowing you to explore more of this visually stunning world.

Jupiter Ascending will be released in plain old 2D, 3D, and IMAX 3D on February 6th in the US and the UK. Below are some production design and concept art images that will make you even more eager to see it. If you want to see more, head over to the Look Book site. I can’t wait for this movie.

Heroic Words of Wisdom From DC’s Finest

If you are a Superhero, it has to be hard to stay motivated. Fighting crime is tough. It wears you down. The criminals just keep coming. Well, artist Adam Thompson‘s “Heroic Words of Wisdom” series is all about pairing heroes with words of wisdom to help you stay motivated.

Each poster has the silhouette of a DC Comics superhero and an inspirational quote from them. I would put these on my wall in a heartbeat. You can never be too motivated and these heroes will help.
