Concept Art For Paramount London’s Star Trek Attraction

Paramount is working on several attractions around the world, and many will include Star Trek elements. Paramount London is in a consultation phase right now before work starts in full force, with a target of a 2020 opening. We have some intriguing new concept art for the park, including a Star Trek themed Starfleet Command zone that looks pretty stunning.

The Starfleet Command zone will be joined by Adventure Isle, Land of Legends, Cartoon Circus, Action Square, Port Paramount, and Entertainment City. Obviously the best attraction will be the Starfleet Command Zone and the concept art for it certainly looks bold.

Marvel Teletubbies

Grab some Tubby custard and sit back and enjoy these Marvel Superheroes. In Teletubby form. Captain Winky, Hulksy, Lalarine, and Spiderpo are ready for action. These fun mash-ups come from John Paolo Santos, an artist in Malolos, the Philippines.

These four heroes may just be a new team of Teletubby Avengers. And even though their costumes are instantly recognizable, I bet you still can’t figure out what the heck they are saying. I picture them rubbing their tummies before battle and then dragging the bodies of their foes back to their Tubby-lair. I bet that’s how the custard is made.

Amazing Photos of ILM Building Star Wars Models

While we await more info about Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens, here is a treasure trove of images that will keep you occupied for awhile. A collection of 140 photographs featuring Industrial Light & Magic’s model building process from 1977 to 1983. These images are just stunning and a good reminder of how incredibly talented these folks were.

The detail on some of these models is just breathtaking. THIS is why more filmmakers need to go back to using models. I could look at these all day long and still see things I never noticed before.

Wild West Batman And Robin

I love the Batman Elseworlds stories that take the Caped Crusader out of his element. In those “What if…” stories Batman might be a Pirate, a cop, in the civil war, or maybe even in the old west. I’m a sucker for taking Batman out of his element, which is why I love this Batman and Robin Wild West cosplay so much.

Just amazing. It features Johnny Hybrid of Hybrid Cosplay along with Yami Let‘s Robin. The photography is by MineralBLU. That gun has bat wings. Those costumes. Epic!

A Vintage 12-Minute Look Behind The Scenes of The Twilight Zone: The Movie

It was in 1982 that Twilight Zone: The Movie landed in theaters. Can you believe that was 32 years ago? So let’s take a few minutes to walk down memory lane with this vintage featurette from the film. It has a full 12 minutes of interviews with directors Steven Spielberg, John Landis, George Miller and Joe Dante.

As you might remember, each director directed his own mini-story within the movie. This video is a fascinating look behind-the-scenes at the movie that attempted to bring the show to the big screen. Sadly it just didn’t have the same kind of magic that the show did and no Rod Serling either. Still it did have some classic moments and a great cast too.

Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo Book

Adventure Time: The Art of Ooo is an art book written and designed by artist Chris McDonnell that documents the creative process behind the television series Adventure Time. That process is completely fascinating to me. As fans know, it is so much more than a simple cartoon. It is so very layered with detailed and has a fairly epic scope.

The land of Ooo is simply amazing and wondrous. This hardcover book will take you deeper into the rabbit hole. It even features an introduction by Guillermo del Toro.

Iron Man Gets Mashed Up With Other Iconic Characters

Can’t get enough of Iron Man? Are you so crazy about him that you want to see him merged with Superman, using his heat vision? What about Iron Man as the Lord of the Sith, Darth Vader? Melbourne-based graphic designer Kode Logic has created a series of illustrations called “Iron MaSH!” that shows Iron Man mashed-up with other iconic heroes and villains. The results are spectacular.

It’s as if we are watching Iron Man assimilate other characters with some Borg-like technology so that he can be the ultimate weapon.

Magnificent Mandalorian Cosplay

Kimette and Jef do a great job cosplaying as a magnificent Mandalorian duo. I wouldn’t want to run into this pair in a dark alley somewhere on the edge of the Empire with no back up. I can see these two having their own show, where they get into trouble every week.

Love that armor! And that ponytail protruding from the helmet too. The photographer really created an amazing atmosphere too. Love it!

Famous Chunkies

Alex Solis’ Famous Chunkies series is a good reminder to eat healthy. It shows what some of our favorite superheroes, sci-fi characters and other icons would look like if they were obese over-eaters.

Being rotund and craving cheeseburgers, these guys and gals are not having any adventures, unless you consider diabetes to be an epic adventure. Great work Alex. It’s a good reminder to us all to take care of ourselves.

Star Trek Into Darkness Red Planet , Spacesuits And Klingon Concept Art

Check out these pieces of concept art from Star Trek Into Darkness. The first few are of the red planet in the Nibiru system from concept artist Andrea Dopaso, which are simply stunning and look much better than what we saw on screen. The rest are production sketches from concept artists Keith Christensen, Constantine Sekeris and Neville Page.

The Klingon suit designs are especially interesting and there’s a concept design of the Klingon planet and some different versions of the Starfleet space suits.
