Clown Princess Of Crime Cosplay

Cutest. Joker. Ever. Behold the Crown Princess of Crime as you have never seen…her…before. Cosplayer Dark Incognito/HydraEvil’s Joker cosplay is just amazing. That face! Those colors! This must be how Harley Quinn felt when she fell in love with Mr. J!

The stellar photography was done by Akami. Absolutely stunning. This is one of those photo sets that just gives me chills. I wish she could be the Joker in the next Batman movie.

Have you ever danced with the devil in the pale moonlight? I ask that of all my prey. I just like the sound of it.

Superhero Dissections

London UK based artist James Northcote is not a super villain. No really. He just likes to dissect superheroes in his series titled Hero dissections. I guess he is just curious about what makes them tick. We all are. It’s just that most of us don’t go slicing them up to find out.

I want to tell James to be careful and that this is how villains always start out, but to be honest I’m kind of scared of James. Just kidding James. You gave me a chuckle with these illustrations.

Rare 1984 Making-Of Dune Documentary

It’s the 30th anniversary of David Lynch’s Dune, so now is a good time to take a look at this rare documentary. Back in 1983 this short film was shown on the convention circuit to get people all hyped up for the movie’s release in 1984. It is titled Destination Dune and if you like the movie you’ll want to spare 6-minutes to check it out.

It shows some scenes being rehearsed, a look at the prop and model shop, David Lynch discussing designs with special effects coordinator Carlo Rambaldi and more. Even Frank Herbert himself. They really packed in a lot in this short documentary, which was included in the 2004 UK DVD release of Dune. It’s a rare treat for fans.

Miniature LEGO Sci-Fi Vehicles

This ongoing LEGO chibi micro contest is fun. Not to mention all kinds of cute and creative. Below are just some of the neat Sci-Fi vehicles that LEGO fanatics have created in chibi style. These are all done in micro scale. Some of the entries get really creative.

I’m always impressed at what people can make with LEGO. You’ll see several famous vehicles that you recognize from TV and movies, just much much smaller and much much cuter. I especially like that Landspeeder.

The Adorable Evolution Of Catwoman

What I find most interesting about artist Jeff Victor’s illustrated Evolution of Catwoman from movies and TV is that in the 2000’s she was wearing a lot less clothes. I never really noticed since I have tried hard to forget Halle Berry’s version of the classic character.

These illustrations are absolutely adorable though and give us a look at how Selina Kyle has changed over the years. It’s not nearly as drastic as some other heroes. For the most part they haven’t changed her all that much.

The Ladies of Battlestar Galactica

Megan Lara’s series Ladies of Battlestar Galactica (For Quantum Mechanix) shows the women from the show in the style of various classic works of art. For instance Starbuck is drawn in the style of Polish Art Deco painter Tamara de Lempicka. Sharon “Athena” Agathon is in the Art Nouveau style of Austrian symbolist painter Gustav Klimt.

They all look amazing and dare I say it? It paints them all in a new light. It is the perfect combination of geeky and classy.

Adam Savage Builds The Space Rifle From Barbarella

Watch as Adam Savage builds the sexy and curvy space rifle from the 1960s Sci-Fi cult film Barbarella. He makes it by hand with only one image for reference. If you are in doubt that Adam is a true master in his field, just watch him work.

The end result is a sexy and sultry weapon that Jane Fonda would be proud to take into battle. It’s a long video obviously, but it is well worth watching.

Female Robocop Cosplay: Part Woman. Part Machine. All Cop.

This fantastic photo shoot shows cosplayer Payton Schmall as a female RoboCop and it is stunning. I have to say, it’s the perfectly pouty lipstick that really sells it. Don’t get me wrong, the costume is right on too and awesome. She channels the very soul of Detroit’s last hope. Which is not easy to do with a helmet covering most of your face.

The photo shoot was done by Ken Pearson Photography. Awesome job all around.

Terminator 2 Set Photos and Concept Art

Do you love Terminator 2? Of course you do. Check out these behind the scenes photos from James Cameron’s classic 1991 film. The images come from Stan Winston’s special effects work shop. I really love that pic of the Schwarzenegger prop with the chest exposed. Look at all of that detail.

It’s easy to see why this movie is so amazing and holds up so well. And those Arnold busts are super creepy. One is surprised. The other looks mean.

What’s Inside Batman’s Utility Belt?

We all know about Batman’s utility belt. Basically it has everything that a Batman needs to get out of any situation. It’s a lot like Doctor Who’s Sonic Screwdriver. But what exactly has the Dark Knight carried in his belt over the years? Artist Kevin Tong clues us in with this cool infographic.

It is by no means complete, but it’s a fun look at what some of the Movie and TV versions of Batman have kept in the utility belt. If you have room for shark repellent you can carry just about anything else you need.
