Fantastic Four Concept Art

Whether you enjoyed Josh Trank’s FF4 movie or not, you’ll like this. Concept artist Steve Jung has released some concept art that he made for the much talked about and maligned Fantastic Four film.

What is interesting here is that they feature a different-looking Planet Zero and also show off Doctor Doom’s castle. This art was created in 2013, and you can see from these images that at that time, that things changed a lot. I’m really enjoying what I’m seeing here. We can only imagine what kind of movie we would have gotten if their plans hadn’t changed so much.

Lovely Poison Ivy Cosplay

I look at these images of Avant-Geek cosplaying as Poison Ivy and all I can do is quote George Takei and say, “Oh Myyy!” That’s because she looks absolutely stunning. This is her original design called Enchanted Ivy. She clearly loves whimsical and romantic designs that play well with nature.

She really looks at home in nature as does that dress. These images are simply lovely. Some cosplayers just put on costumes, others create works of art. Great work Avant-Geek.

1982 DC Comics Style Guide

The 1982 DC Comics Style Guide is now online and complete. This is some really stunning artwork. Those were the days. I wish we saw more of this style today. The style guide features many character designs, color guides and model sheets. These were all used for marketing and licensing and they also served as a reference for the artists. You have probably seen some of these images on merchandise. Dick Giordano inked all of the figures in the original guide, while Todd Klein inked all of the logos and many of the backgrounds seen in the guide. I love them all, but this era Batman really looks awesome.

Wanda Wilson is looking good in this Marvel Lady Deadpool Bishoujo Statue. This lovely statue is based on a character interpretation by Japanese illustrator Shunya Yamashita. Lady Deadpool is beautiful and she stands just under 10-inches tall in 1:7 scale. She has some amazing detail.

Star Wars Napkin Art

Nina Levy is a really cool mom. She packs her sons’ lunches every day and every day she includes a piece of artwork on a napkin. She uses waterproof art markers to turn disposable napkins into one of a kind illustrations that the kids love. She draws creatures and all kinds of characters from pop culture.

We like these Star Wars ones the best. Especially the ones that feature Star Wars characters riding dinosaurs. These are all kinds of awesome. The Wampa hanging onto the dinosaur takes the cake.
