It is a great time to be a fan of The Flash. Between the awesome TV series and the upcoming movie alone, this hero is getting a ton of attention. The folks at HalloweenCostumes have put together this cool infographic about the evolution of his costume over the years.

Check out all of the versions of his costume through the ages, from his comic origins to the popular CW series. I have a feeling this new wave of love for The Flash is just the beginning. The Scarlet Speedster is here to stay.

Steampunk Star Wars

Check out these Star wars characters from graphic artist Bjorn Hurri. They have gone full steampunk and they look cool as hell. They are all decked out in copper plating, gears, monocles and leather, with the occasional steam stack thrown in for good measure. Bjorn is super talented. They are all beautiful.

Night of the Living Trekkies Book

Night of the Living Trekkies is the perfect book for this time of year when we celebrate Halloween and fear all kinds of ghosts and ghouls. And zombies. Jim Pike seems like a mild-mannered nerd and is the world’s biggest Star Trek fan, but when hundreds of Trekkies arrive for a science-fiction convention, he is quickly surrounded by Klingons, Vulcans, and a strange virus that transforms its carriers flesh-eating zombies!

Yeah, that sounds like my kind of book. Trek and Zombies make this one a winning combination.

Awesome Custom Playable Star Wars Holochess Set

28 year old web applications developer Ian Martin had been playing holochess with his wife and brother on a small replica board using a set of rules that someone had developed and posted online. But once he moved into a house with a garage he decided to make a full-scale Dejarik table, complete with working control interfaces, sound effects, and programmed gaming aids. Oh and the alien figures. It looks amazing.

The table has 10 working knobs, 54 functional buttons, 26 lights, and two LCD display screens. It can play the unofficial game using a program that he wrote. Ian is a genius. It looks absolutely perfect.

Zoe Washburne from Firefly Cosplay

Like you, I miss Firefly, but seeing this cosplay is almost as good as seeing the real Zoe Washburne. Every detail is spot on, including the attitude. She aims to misbehave.

Punky Bruiser looks amazing as our favorite female badass. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again. Wash is a lucky guy. The photos are shot by Dallas Nagata White. And don’t miss the behind the scenes video below.

Star Wars would have still been good if the music had been different, but it is Oscar-winning composer John Williams score that makes them legendary. Well now you can get the Star Wars soundtracks on Vinyl. Again. The Star Wars The Ultimate Vinyl Collection Original Soundtrack includes all six films, restored from their original masters and boasting the classic and original artwork.

The six individual albums come in gatefold jackets on 180-gram vinyl and include a digital download card for one complete box set of all six soundtracks. I fell in love with these soundtracks as a kid and it was really something magical to be able to listen to the music and re-live scenes from the movie in my head. Or maybe pretend I was being trained by Yoda in the swamp. Or outrunning TIE-Fighters. Great stuff.

If you like your superheroes dark and gritty, you’ll love this portrait art created by artist Adnan Ali. These portraits include Deadpool, Rafael, Hulk, Spawn, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more. I would not want to meet any of these characters in a dark alley.

I especially like Deadpool and Spawn. And the texture on that Turtle’s skin is just too real. Can you imagine a movie using this style of animation? That would be an amazing thing to behold.
