This cosplay makes it easy to see how Ivy has so much power over plant life. I would be drawn to her as well. Purelight Cosplay looks radiant and stunning as Bombshell Poison Ivy in these images. That costume is amazing and all of the colors are just gorgeous. I said she looked radiant. That must be the photosynthesis under her skin. The photos are by Tim Bermingham who did just as awesome of a job.
These Star Wars Haute Couture Designs are amazing. Fashion illustrator Guillermo Meraz was clearly inspired by Star Wars: The Force Awakens. There are designs here from the original trilogy too. Being a man, I’m not all that into fashion, but these designs blow me away. These designs show off Rey, Boba Fett, Yoda, BB-8, Chewbacca and more. I would love to see these on a runway somewhere in real life.
What are you going to give your significant other this Valentine’s day? You could do a lot worse then giving him or her one of these awesome geeky cards from artist PJ McQuade. He has all kinds of geeky Valentines for the ones you love. Everything from George McFly proclaiming “You are my density” to Star Trek II’s Khan with a card that reads “From the bottom of my heart, I kiss at thee.”
These are awesome cards. Geeky yet romantic. I hope I get one of these on Valentine’s Day. They go good with a box of chocolates.
Make that Macbook Keyboard stand out by making it a colorful tribute to everyone’s favorite space opera. These Star Wars Macbook Keyboard Stickers take your Macbook and transport it to a galaxy far, far away. Well, not “transport”. That belongs to that other sci-fi property. Let’s say that these stickers/skins will put your Macbook into hyperdrive.
This is a fun way to geek up your laptop and all of the characters, ships and symbols are really nicely done in a playful style. Now your keyboard looks much better. You’re welcome.
The soundtrackfor Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan is one of those soundtracks that I have listened to about a million times. The score by the late James Horner is just perfect.
I owned this on vinyl the first time around and now I have to get it again because Mondo is releasing the score on limited edition vinyl. It looks stunning, with new art by Matt Taylor. This includes the extended score, with some new moments that didn’t make it in before. Here is the track listing:

I would own it for the art alone, but the music with the art? This is a no-brainer. It goes on sale January 13 at mondotees.com for $35. You can’t beat that price either.
Have you ever wondered how various sci-fi weapons compare to each other? How does the Energy Sword from Halo stack up against Han Solo’s blaster for instance? And could Mal reynolds’ gun beat them both? This infographic has the answers. It is a list of science fiction weaponry ranked by the amount of damage they do in Joules.
If nothing else, this fun list should help you settle some nerd disputes about weapons. Who am I kidding? It will probably just add fuel to the fire. It’s a fun look at some of our favorite weapons though.
Star Trek production artist Rick Sternbach recently posted some amazing photos of the kit-bashed miniatures that were used for the ships seen wrecked after the Battle of Wolf 359 in TNG’s The Best of Both Worlds. The images here are of the models before the art department turned them into wrecks. It’s awesome that we get to take a look at these. I have always wondered about scenes like Wolf 359. This is a rare treat for Star Trek fans.
Discovered while looking for images from COSMOS in 1979, pawing through boxes of thousands of 35mm slides (remember film?). Apparently I/we shot a few dozen pix of the poor ships from Best of Both Worlds on ST:TNG. Models made from AMT/Ertl kits of different scales, plus bits like highlighter markers and other plastic chunks. IIRC we then took Dremel grinders and X-Acto saws to them and added some airbrush burn damage.
The first four images are some views of the New Orleans class USS Kyushu, Cheyenne class USS Ahwahnee, and the Springfield class USS Chekov. The second set of four features the proto-Nebula class USS Melbourne, and the Challenger class USS Buran.
I would have loved to see more of these on-screen in more detail, but the wreckage of Wolf 359 was pretty impressive. Hopefully he will show off more of these ships very soon.
We’re really loving this Superhero art from Corey Smith. This small collection of superhero art is fun and done in a cartoon style. I could totally see some Superhero cartoons done in this style. I would watch it. Especially the Superman show. Too bad such cartoons don’t exist right now. Corey, you need to animate these.
Here we have Wolverine, Luke Cage, Superman and Captain America. These pieces all have so much character. Although I’m not sure what the deal is what Captain America’s neck. There’s also a cool zombie hunter.
This fun video shows off how robots evolved in movies and TV. Nowadays Sci-Fi flicks just aren’t complete unless they feature robots. That’s cool, because we love robots around here. Some of the best movies of all time have robots. The artwork is from Scott Park and Sploid turned his work into a cool video.
Sit back and enjoy the evolution of these synthetic beings. It makes me wonder what kind of robots we will see next.
