We are used to seeing superheros in times of crisis. Kicking butt, taking names, wrestling with grown up issues. So it’s refreshing to see some of our favorite heroes as kids, hard at play rather than the tough work of cleaning up the streets.

Did you know that there are Eight Immortals in Chinese mythology? Chinese mythology is pretty interesting. No doubt about it, but I am really intrigued to learn more about the eight Avenger immortals painted by Chinese Illustrator Xia-a. I can only imagine the epic tales that could be told about this group.
I love a good mashup between modern geek mythology and classic mythological tales. Awesome!
Brazilian artist Butcher Billy has given Marvel Comics characters a punk makeover. This series features classics like Siouxsie Sioux as Scarlet Witch, Mark Mothersbaugh as Iron Man, John Lydon as Wolverine, and more. These Marvel covers are awesome.
I never thought that I would see Morrissey as the Hulk. These covers are amazing. I just wish they were reakl so I could collect them and read the stories.
Great works of art stand the test of time and are instantly recognizable. Some of them are worth millions of dollars. Others are priceless. How can we improve these classic masterpieces? Add some superheroes of course. That;s always a good answer.

Hipster Superheroes. I guess that is either a good thing or a bad thing depending if you are a Hipster or not. This fun series comes from artist Phillip Sevy and it includes both Marvel & DC Superheroes as hipsters.
One thing is for sure. These are not the heroes that we know and love. This is a pretty drastic change for all of them. I never thought that I would see Batman as a hipster.

Tim Burton gave us such classics as Edward Scissorhands, the 1989 Batman movie, Beetlejuice and many more, but have you ever wondered what he could have done with The Avengers? As much as I like some of Burton’s classic movies, I’m glad he didn’t touch The Avengers. This is still a cool concept though. It’s always nice to see a new take on familiar characters that we know.
