Concord, New Hampshire artist Matthew DiMasi of Shattered Comics creates beautiful Comic Book Cover Mosaics using broken pieces of tile. These comic book covers look a bit more like ancient art now. They are very beautiful and probably weigh a ton. Just be glad that your issues are just as lovely, but not nearly this heavy.
Matthew’s full collection of mosaic comic book covers are available to view on Facebook and the Shattered Comics website.
This Paint Splatter Villain art from Arian Noveir somehow makes these comic book villains even more menacing, as if they are half-formed and coming out of the shadows. The Joker is particularly menacing.
Featured here are Black Cat, Poison Ivy, Red Skull, Harley Quinn, Spawn, Venom, 2 Jokers and Magneto. I really love how ethereal these all feel. Like ghosts that come calling in the night.
This series titled “Cosmic Comics” takes some of our favorite Marvel characters and puts them against the backdrop of the cosmos. These already powerful superheroes look even more like Gods when floating through space. Several of them look as if they are in a reflective state of mind, as if contemplating the mere mortals of far off Earth.
This art is simple, yet powerful. It’s like 2001: A Space Odyssey and Marvel got together for a new series.
If you like your superheroes dark and gritty, you’ll love this portrait art created by artist Adnan Ali. These portraits include Deadpool, Rafael, Hulk, Spawn, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and more. I would not want to meet any of these characters in a dark alley.
I especially like Deadpool and Spawn. And the texture on that Turtle’s skin is just too real. Can you imagine a movie using this style of animation? That would be an amazing thing to behold.
This female Spawn cosplay looks like it was practically ripped from the pages of Spawn itself. Cosplayer Cat Huntress did an amazing job. These images and Cat herself are totally epic. I just love the lighting and the colors. Of course that costume is pretty incredible too. She has basically channeled Spawn so completely that I can’t see anyone doing it better.
“Sci-fi, horror and fantasy and comics have been a huge part of my life for as long as I can remember. I’ve always been a bit of a tomboy, found myself drawn more towards male characters and taking on male identities. Todd MacFarlane is one of my greatest artistic inspirations, I’ve been obsessed with Spawn since I was 13 and grew up watching the cartoon. What I love so much about Spawn’s character is that although his motivations are entirely self serving, you see moments of humanity shine through in his actions. We tried going for more of a cartoony feeling in the spirit of the show, the costume isn’t 100% exactly like the original Spawn costume because I wanted to do something a little different (and to be honest I was on a time constraint). And I had these amazing spiked bracers I absolutely love and take every opportunity possible to use on set!”
