New Full Trailer For Stargate: Origins

MGM has released a new full trailer for the Stargate: Origins series and consider me there! This looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun! Mixing in some Indiana Jones spirit into the Stargate franchise seems like the perfect way to go here. The trailer shows lots of new footage.

In 1939, Professor Paul Langford and his daughter Catherine are still grappling with the mysteries of the ancient relic they discovered in the Egyptian desert more than ten years ago. With war looming in Europe and funding running out, these brilliant minds are approaching their lowest ebb. Little do they know, answers are about to present themselves in a dangerous form, when the Nazi Occultist Dr. Wilhelm Brücke approaches their facility with a sinister motive.
Enlisting the help of two young soldiers, Catherine must use all of her wit and nous as she and her new allies embark on an adventure into the unknown to rescue her father, and save the Earth from an unimaginable darkness.

Stargate Origins is a digital series that will be 10 episodes that each run 10 minutes in length. You can watch it exclusively on a new website called Stargate Command. This website will also be an official destination for all things Stargate. A subscription to Stargate Command will cost you $25.

Alternate Star Trek Discovery Posters

Alternate Star Trek Discovery Posters
Artist Andi Ewington has created some very stunning Alternate Star Trek Discovery Posters that beat the hell out of the stuff CBS All Access was releasing when the show arrived. These posters are bold while keeping things slightly retro. They really get you excited for the show if you haven’t seen it yet. I would want to watch it right now based on these posters.

Cool Concept Art For The Force Awakens And The Last Jedi

Cool Concept Art For The Force Awakens And The Last Jedi
Check out this concept art for The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi. Most of these images involve the death of Han Solo in The Force Awakens and Benicio del Toro’s character, DJ from The Last Jedi. It’s interesting to see the changes that the death of Han went through, but it seems that he was always going to fall. DJ could have looked a lot different than he did in the movie. It’s always fascinating to see where the art was leading compared to where things ended up. I think I like Kylo’s mask in gold better than silver.

Must Have - Star Trek TNG Minifigures
Back when Star Trek: The Next Generation was airing LEGO wasn’t licensing movies and TV shows so we missed out on some really great toys. Star Trek: TNG has never officially been available in LEGO form, but I suspect they would have looked a lot like these custom Star Trek TNG minifigures if they had been released at the time.

This eight-figure set includes Wesley Crusher, Lt. Commander Data, Dr. Beverly Crusher, Cmdr. William Riker, Capt. Jean-Luc Picard, Counselor Deanna Troi, Lt. Cmdr. Geordi La Forge, and Lieutenant Worf. They are compatible with your existing plastic brick collections, even though they are not official. You can get a version with more natural skin tones for around $100, or the more traditional yellow skin tones, for around $94. You can also just buy them for $15-$16 individually.

Watch Teenage Seth Macfarlane In A Star Trek Fan Film

Watch Teenage Seth Macfarlane In A Star Trek Fan Film
If you’ve been watching the Orville, it will come as no surprise to you that Seth MacFarlane has always been a huge Star Trek fan. The Orville is an amazing Star trek show even if it doesn’t have the official label on it. You can see the love he has for Trek in every episode and in every frame. So I guess we shouldn’t be surprised to see this clip of a young Seth MacFarlane in a Star Trek fan film. He’s clearly having a ball. Who knew that this would all lead to his own Trek TV show?

Star Wars Fan Trailer Featuring Ralph McQuarrie’s Original Concept Art

Star Wars Fan Trailer Featuring Ralph McQuarrie's Original Concept Art
The importance of Ralph McQuarrie’s original concept art for Star Wars can not be understated. It still influences the designs and creatures we see in the films, in comics, and on TV. His legacy lives on. This fan film is a lovingly made trailer that brings McQuarrie’s art to life to show us a Star Wars we never got to see. It is so well done and beautiful. It’s nice to see that people still appreciate McQuarrie’s work after all of these years.
