Artist Aurelio Lorenzo created this screenprinted poster for the 2009 J.J Abrams movie, as a private commission for some lucky person. He takes New-Trek and gives it some retro old Trek vibes. I love the comic book palette and the fact that there is so much going on in this poster. It has action all over it.
Cuteness overload! These amazingly adorable Doctors in tea cups are from Lily Collin. It’s tea time and all of the Doctors are invited. In fact, each Doctor is in his own character appropriate tea cup for the occasion. It’s been awhile since I’ve seen anything this cute. Lily should offer these up as prints so we can put them all over our walls. Having seen this fun art, I bet you never look at tea time the same way.
ALL of the Doctors aren’t here actually, but most of them are present. The matching cups are a great touch.

I don’t think I could ever get tired of seeing these characters riding these kiddie vehicles. Artist Kretschmer Kreativ built this stunningly beautiful replica model of the USS Enterprise entirely out of wood. All I can say is that this ship is some serious eye candy. A real class act. I can easily see this fitting in with the other ships in Captain Picard’s ready room. It is just so lovely.
It measures 36 inches and he used all natural wood grain with no paint at all. The different colors are different woods. Apparently he is selling this one for $3000., but if you want to build one the instructions are at the link.
Boldly take your friendship to the next level with this cool Star Trek Friendship Necklace. You and your BFF are going to love it. Two friends, one Star Trek necklace. Enemy Mine was a movie that was so ahead of it’s time in so many ways. The story is timeless, the Special effects were great for it’s day and it came from a time when not everything had to be a blockbuster. You just tell a good solid story, you make the viewer care and you are done. This is a movie that stays with you long after you watch it. Could a movie that focuses on just two characters with limited effects even be made today? Probably not and that’s a damn shame.
The special effects that were in the movie looked amazing at the time. Check out some of this movie’s SFX miniatures and a few behind the scenes shots. What a special movie. It is really unique compared to most Science Fiction in that it has such heart and humanity while both characters are so far from home.

These Star Wars Lego Minifigs Wearing Spaceship Costumes are simply adorable. They were created by Nick Chen. Each of these characters are wearing their own ships and vehicles as if cosplaying. It’s a pretty cool idea and it really makes for some great new LEGO creations. A few of our favorites are below, but you can check Nick’s Flickr page for more.
They look easy enough to make if you want these on your desk. They are pretty cute.

Have a look at a bunch of original matte paintings and sketches from Blade Runner. I’ve lost a ton of time just looking at all of these. It’s always fascinating to see where these things began and how they came to be. It’s no wonder Blade Runner’s world was so alive. These paintings and drawings set the scene and tone. I could look at these all day and come away as impressed as I was when I first saw them.
