So the new teaser for the She-Ra reboot is here. It’s okay. I guess? If you’re 5 years old and not really paying attention maybe, because you’re playing with toys. From what I can tell, it’s about a feminine young woman who gets transformed into a young boy with a long flowing mane of hair. Because a gender-changing sword demands it. *sigh* What happened to you Netflix? Are you okay? Do you need to talk? Is everything okay at home? I’m here for you.
Netflix’s Lost In Space reboot is looking pretty epic. Check out the new trailer and see if you agree. The robot that we all know and love is unrecognizable, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing. It looks very alien, with not a hint of the retro design of the original. This is a very different series than the original. I wasn’t sure if they could make this work, but it really looks amazing. This Lost In Space trailer has tons of action, a look at more of the cast and an epic feel. I can’t wait.
We really haven’t heard much about Netflix’s Lost in Space reboot, but now we have a trailer. It looks like things are a lot more serious than the original. The first trailer doesn’t really show much of the series itself. It focuses on the Robinsons leaving Earth. I like what I’m seeing so far though and I’m interested in seeing another trailer so we can get a sense of what the series will actually be like. It may be a bit less serious than what we see here. After all, what happened to Earth may not be pretty, but we need an excuse for the Robinsons to leave.
Artist Ben Murphy from Cork, Ireland says that this is the first of three mini-projects that is part of his 4th Year Project. The idea is to create the concept art for “Logan’s Run” as if it was being rebooted for this generation of moviegoers. From what I can see on his page, he did an amazing job. Below is just a sample of some of the work that he did.
I really like the costuming of the main characters, the vehicles and the guns. He has a pretty cool vision for what this world would be. I’d love to see his vision in movie form. Even in animation.
Fans of Terminator Genisys will not want to miss this deluxe book that follows the creative journey of the filmmakers behind the new adventure movie. Terminator Genisys: Resetting the Future lets you see how they went about turning the Terminator universe upside down while still paying homage to James Cameron’s original films.
Inside you’ll find stunning concept art and photography from the set. It tells the complete story of the making of the film. There are also interviews with key members of the cast and crew. This will definitely be a fun read.
Before Ronald D. Moore brought Battlestar Galactica back to life, Bryan Singer almost beat him by a few years. Singer had his new Battlestar Galactica series in development around 2000-2001, but due to the 9/11 tragedy everything stalled and it was sadly never meant to be.
It would have been interesting to see what Singer’s take on the franchise would have been like. We may never be able to see everything, but luckily, we can get some idea, thanks to some concept art that recently appeared online. We can see a more streamlined Viper, some interior sketches of the Galactica and some bulky Cylon designs that look menacing and tough. The art seen here was created by designer Guy Hendrix Dyas. That Viper has some nice curves. Makes me wonder what Galactica herself would have looked like.

If you enjoyed Neil Blomkamp’s 2009 sci-fi masterpiece District 9, you will get a kick out of this District 9 theatrical trailer recreated in paper. It is sure to put a smile on your face and make your day. It’s like the creators of South Park have sweded the movie.

Nathan Schroeder’s website has all kinds of Epic environmental concept art from the movie. Nathan was a member of the art department on both of the rebooted Trek movies. On his site you will find galleries for several of the films he has worked on. It is an impressive list that includes the X-Men films, Pirates of the Caribbean, an even a Battlestar Galactica movie that never happened.
Here you will see some of the scenic design for Star Trek Into Darkness. He worked on Qo’noS, Earth, and the Nibiru volcano. Check out some of these gorgeous settings.
