Star Trek Coin & Currency Sets

Check out these Star Trek Coin & Currency Sets. They put Kirk and company on real paper money. Money that actually looks awesome. This 50th Anniversary set features Captain James T. Kirk on a genuine $2 Bill and a JFK Half Dollar. The $2 bill is a genuine legal tender U.S. bank note and the half dollar is a 2016 John F. Kennedy issue.

You can also get a set that focuses on the entire crew. These sets are pretty cool. I could see myself displaying these in my office.

Royal Canadian Mint Star Trek Coins

The Royal Canadian Mint has announced a new range of Star Trek coins and they are being released over the next several months. It is yet another celebration of the 50th anniversary. They certainly offer a lot of cool designs. Some of them are very drool-worthy.

The coolest is probably the Starfleet-delta shaped coin with the face value of $200, but since it is minted in solid gold, it will cost you a lot more. You can check out our friends over at The Trek Collective for more info on all of these.

Star Trek Coins Are The Credits We’ve Been Waiting For

Okay, so these awesome coins are not the Galactic credits from Star Trek’s future, but if you find yourself in the Pacific island country of Tuvalu, you can actually use them as legal tender. These are dollar coins and on one side it shows Elizabeth II, the Queen of Tuvalu. On the other side you will find either Captain Kirk or the USS Enterprise. Why do they never offer coins like this in America? They are lovely! Lucky Tuvalus!

They are from the Perth Mint of Australia and they are nearly pure silver. Beam me to Tuvalu Scotty!

Sci-Fi And Superhero Engraved Hobo Nickels

British artist Shaun Hughes has some mad engraving skills. He creates quite a variety of incredible hobo nickels. What you see here is just a small sampling of his work. He has all kinds of creations on his DeviantART gallery.

Even if we could, there’s no way we could spend any of these. They are so beautiful you would just want to keep them. These altered coins look amazing.

Doctor Who Inspired Money: Don’t Spend It All In Time And Space

Artist Randi Sparkman created these clever Doctor Who inspired bank notes, which I’m assuming are only printed on Gallifrey. Which is a shame really, because along with the destruction of the home planet of the Time Lords, the currency tanked. Then it was all revived again when all 13 Doctor’s saved the planet, so it’s all good.

This currency features Daleks, the TARDIS, the 9th Doctor and the 10th. As currency goes, this is some of the coolest I have ever seen. I’d love to have a pocket full. It beats plain old galactic credits anyday.
