Dr. Zaius On Working With Charleton Heston On Planet Of The Apes

Dr. Zaius
This clip from Turner Classic Movies features Dr. Zaius talking about working with Charleton Heston On Planet Of The Apes. I’m not sure when this was filmed, but Dr, Zaius has aged very well. No crows feet (Maybe I should say monkey paws) or anything. It’s a short clip, but those are some great stories about the film and Charleton Heston’s kindness.

E.T. – Rare 1982 Behind The Scenes Footage And Interview With Melissa Mathison

Check out this rare look behind the scenes of E.T. with Steven Spielberg and screenwriter Melissa Mathison. It’s like entering a time machine and going all the way back to 1982. This rare interview clip was apparently captured from a long-forgotten foreign broadcast. They manage to pack a lot into this 3-minute clip.

If you ever wondered why they chose to make the story take place on Halloween, Mathison talks about this here. She also talks about the script a bit. It’s a charming little clip from a more civilized age. It is worth your 3 minute investment.

1986 Leonard Nimoy Interview For Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home

I still can’t believe that Leonard Nimoy is gone. He will live on though, on screen and in our hearts. This vintage 1986 interview with Nimoy was conducted to coincide with the release of Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home. You might remember that Nimoy also directed the film.

Among other things, Nimoy talks about the spirit of Star Trek, and how it has evolved through the years. It’s a fascinating interview and a reminder that this man was one hell of a human being.

Return Of The Jedi: Location Special Effects

If you like his work, you can head on over to Patreon and support Jamie Benning. He’s a documentary film maker and this short clip is an interview with Kevin Pike, who worked not only on Back to the Future, but also on Return of the Jedi.

It’s a fascinating clip and a great look behind the scenes, so it is certainly worth supporting Jamie so he can continue making documentaries. In this clip, Kevin Pike talks about his work on the Location Special Effects on Return of the Jedi.

A Vintage 12-Minute Look Behind The Scenes of The Twilight Zone: The Movie

It was in 1982 that Twilight Zone: The Movie landed in theaters. Can you believe that was 32 years ago? So let’s take a few minutes to walk down memory lane with this vintage featurette from the film. It has a full 12 minutes of interviews with directors Steven Spielberg, John Landis, George Miller and Joe Dante.

As you might remember, each director directed his own mini-story within the movie. This video is a fascinating look behind-the-scenes at the movie that attempted to bring the show to the big screen. Sadly it just didn’t have the same kind of magic that the show did and no Rod Serling either. Still it did have some classic moments and a great cast too.
