Artist Jonathan Hallett leaves us in stitches with this cool series featuring Lilo and Stitch as several famous pop culture characters. I especially love Stitch looking extra evil as the Joker. Jonathan created these for Comic-Con and they are sold at his Artist’s Alley booth. I’m sure he sold a lot of them, because they are just so playful and awesome. After seeing this series, I vote for more Stitch as everyone!
We’ve seen our share of Disney Princess mashups. We’ve seen them as Game of Thrones characters, Jedi, X-Men and more. Well, sooner or later someone had to transform these beauties into Wookiees. That day has come. And yes, it is as weird as you would expect. They were created for OBSVE to celebrate Star Wars Day.
These Retro Pop Style Marvel Movie Posters are bold, bright and eye-popping. French artist Florent Zimmermann knows how to catch the viewer’s attention. As bright and bold as they are, the actual characters are barely seen in many of these, yet the style of each piece shouts their identity loud and clear. They are all incorporate panels in the background, like an actual comic book page.
This is a fun new series from Deviantartist nrugs4. Meet Captain Aloha and The Invincible Iron Tiki! He says that these two pieces are the first in a long series that combines Hawaiian culture and superheroes!
I think he’s really onto something big here. This is a very original idea and the two themes merge beautifully. I can’t wait to see the other heroes in this series. I’m also hoping that he offers prints at some point, because these are awesome.
If superheroes were dragons is a beautiful set of illustrations by Lynton Levengood. This art series takes the already strong superheroes and transforms them into dragons who still look like Hulk, Wolverine, Iron Man and others. These terrifying flying creatures are instantly recognizable, yet so very different at the same time in their evolved form. This could be an interesting beginning to a much larger fantasy world of Levengood’s making.
It’s about time that someone mashed up two of our favorite fantasy TV shows. I present to you Game of Adventure, where the Land of Ooo and Westeros are one in the same. I think artist André Só did an amazing job with all of the characters, but I really get a kick of seeing BMO in costume and swinging a sword around. Also Jake is a great Direwolf.
This is the art mashup that you never thought you would see. The odd paring of Beavis and Butthead characters with Earth’s mightiest heroes, the Avengers. This is a combination that no one could have seen coming, which makes me wonder just what else Stephen Wittmaak has in his brain. I present to you Stevis and Stark-Head. Heh heh heh…This sucks. I know right! Fire! Fire!
Artist Miguel Lopez created this fun mashup based on the Batman story The Killing Joke. Finn and Jake better watch out. Stuff just got serious. Simon Petrikov just put the crown on and his sanity has gone out the window.
This series called Gotham Corral is from artist doclumbago who imagines Batman’s many villains as mustache-twirling old west baddies. I have never considered these characters in this kind of setting, but now that I see it, I’d like to see more. I can picture Batman and Bane facing each other at the Okay Corral at high noon, ready to draw their irons. I hope he creates more of these characters.
